I can't even believe the horrible experience I had with the owner of this place (who also owns the Days Inn down the road). My original reservation was for the Days Inn but when I arrived I was told I couldn't have my support animal with me there, but at their sister location I could and I was assured my reservation and pricing would stay the same. Ok, annoying but that's fine. We drove to their this ocation (Super 8 Alamogordo) and the owner himself was at the front desk. He tried to have us pay over $30 more for a room PLUS charging a pet fee. I travel with a support animal, have stayed in dozens of hotels with my dog (no pet fee ever charged since she's a support animal) and this man denied me my reservation and called me a liar, even though I had proper documentation to prove it. I don't know how he's in the hospitalalitiy industry. Never in my life have I been made to feel the way he treated me, I was crying in the lobby during my attempted check in, almost had a panic attack. On top of that he wasn't even wearing a mask, came around from behind the plexi glass at the front desk (mind you this city had a recent COVID spike) and was shouting in our faces. Unreal. There are so many other motel/hotel options in the area, I would not reccomend giving this man business at this location or his other one (Days Inn, Alamogordo). Read moreTerrible communication on price(pulled fast one on us), obnoxious clients not properly handled. Arrived later at night, 4 adults, 4 kids. Asked rate for the night, told $40/room, took two rooms totaling just under $90 w/tax. signed for two rooms to get keys, seemed fine. Saw TWO charges for the rooms for $89.xx on bank statement, asked the rep at front desk after BAD night of no sleep (b/c another guest had many dogs in their car barking all night), desk rep said she was only night audit and couldn't answer my question on the double charge, said may be the holding fee some banks do. Gave me card to owner, called him, stated he tried calling me (didn't, im a network cell tech, no inbound call to my cell/only # from him) and no email recv'd from him on this, even when i triple-checked my email address i left with auditor. Had him re-send me receipts but inly got generic invoice from him without my signature from checkout of the two rooms. Not sure if he thought he could pull a fast one on us b/c we were from out of town or what, but this was extremely shady/slimy business practice. ALL FOUR ADULTS repeatedly asked/verified the cost b/c we'd have gone somewhere else cheaper if it was actually gonna be almost $90/room for the night. The owner checked us in, Noticed I was charged more than I confirmed online and he did not mention any extra charges nor said new total, even asked if there was a deposit he replied no.There was a modification and when I went down to talk to him.He was drinking alcohol in the lobby after he had just checked me in. As well then he decided to mention it was a pet deposit. 120 more....online says 10 but charged 15. When I spoke of the alcohol to an employee Fernando he rudely replied so what, this is his house, he can do what he wants, irs America. Owner called next day while I was off the premises and tried to say it was non alcoholic beer...yeah no! I saw what can it was. They missed housekeeping in my rooms and had to make sure we got service last day we were there, they didn't even clean thr breakfast room that day either. The poor crew has a greedy man unfortunately they call a boss. Motel 6 was better than this place...atleast with our own experiences. I have yet to hear from Victor the owner, was told he was away till the 7th and emailed him with concerns and he has yet to reply to this business matter. Pros: girl at front desk is cool and older housekeeper who tended the room they day after it was missed.
