My opinion of today's Sonic is based on what Sonic was like late 70's early 80's. I worked at one of the first Sonic Drive-in's locations in New Mexico. It was my first job and I worked there off/on for about 6yrs as a Car hop on roller skates and as Fountaintender. My experience recently at the "newer" Sonic location in Alamogordo NM was so disappointing that I wonder if I'll ever have a satisfactory experience at Sonic again. This location has a drive up lane so lots of vehicle exhaust smells and noise. Along with those smells there was also the smell of spoiled food,garbage waste, and trash. Very unappetizing. I chose to eat parked under a tree at a nearby park. By the time I got there, less than 5min, took my food out of the bag, it was cold. Why? Because the bag was not folded over to keep the warmth in. I had ordered a double meat pattie, cheese burger. It was sloppily, slapped together, with 2 pickle slices, brown edged lettuce, and a small, squishy, tomato slice. Plus because it was cold, congealed grease along the bun edge. It was the grossest looking excuse of a cheeseburger I've seen in quite some time. Appearance can make the taste, and that burger didn't taste very good at all. Seems to me that Sonic Drive-in's, their management, and employees take little to no pride in their business. From top to bottom, inside and out, food appearance and taste. This was one of the worst experiences I've had with Sonic Drive-in's. Read moreI honestly never thought I’d leave a review like this, but after what I’ve witnessed and what my girlfriend personally experienced, I can’t stay quiet.
The manager at this Sonic a man named Will or goes by William has created an environment that’s just flat-out inappropriate and uncomfortable, especially for the female workers that are minors. He constantly calls them “babe” and “baby” while on shift, even when it’s clear they don’t like it. It’s not just unprofessional it’s creepy.
But the worst part is what happened to my girlfriend. While she was working, he grabbed the lanyard around her neck near her chest and made a gross, sexually inappropriate comment. That’s beyond disrespectful. That’s harassment.
On top of that, he’s forcing carhops to combine their tip money with customer cash payments, which sounds illegal and definitely unfair. These workers are busting their butts in the heat and barely getting what they deserve now their tips are being handled like store cash? It’s not right.
This guy is abusing his power, and it feels like nobody’s holding him accountable. If this is how Sonic allows managers to act, it really makes you question how seriously they take employee safety and fairness.
I hope this review reaches the right people. Will or William should not be managing anyone period. Someone needs to investigate this location before...

Whether it's not putting something in my drink that it's already suppose to come with, or something I ask for, to be put in it or there missing one of my meals after they already repeated it back to me but they say I did not order it when I pull up to the window to pay and receive and it is very frustrating.This particular spot here they like to conversate more than what they should, I am okay with and understand that being able to conversate with your coworkers and enjoy your job is good for your work environment. But this crew, they are taking it to the next level and rushing with the customers just to conversate and that's what causes your mishaps in getting orders wrong. Having this location is convenient for me being that it is located on my side of town, and if it is late and I don't have much time to make dinner, I can easily go order it. But if I have to drive across town and waste additional 15-20 minutes based on traffic just so I can get good customers service and a accurate order. What's the point, I can just make dinner at home.
