07/20-25/22. Full-time RVer here. Stayed in full hook up space. Stayed in my p/u camper. Tight spots for large rigs(I also have a 46 foot DRV Mobile Suites) shrubs and trees between the sites are over grown. Nice gravel-ish paved interior roads. As with most parks in Alaska, RVs have evolved and parks have not. I'm sure two years ago this park would have got 5 stars out of me. But due to some flu going around in the last two years Alaska was hit harder than most. I keep this in mind while I'm traveling this beautiful state. The greenery between the sites is overgrown, however it was being attended to during my stay. Slowly but surely. The hookups are difficult as the sewer hookup placement is near the road, yet power and water are mid-site. Many of the provided picnic tables should be repaired or replaced. No campfires during my stay. The park sits along the Chena River, there are no sites actually on the river, but there are river-front sites. There is a very nice riverfront lawn/ picnic/ grass area for all to use. The laundry room.....dirty...pricey....$4. to wash and...$4. to dry...I did not use the washrooms (I am not Canadian). The well coiffed lady behind the counter with the small white well coiffed yapping dog that you may or may not have the pleasure to interact with actually lives in three (3) sites in the middle of the park. Her interactions with guests both telephonic and in person are testing. When she walks her dog through the park she has no interactions with her guests. When she happens into the laundry room she has no interactions with her guests. I feel somewhat sorry for this lady, as she does not have pleasant communication skills in a hospitality setting. A majority of the guests are Alaskan noted by the Alaskan licensing on their vehicles (I know a rental RV). All in all this park has potential of being a lot more than it currently is. The office closes at 9pm. You are able to check in after that. Many come in very late, and leave very early (hmmm) with no...
Read moreExtremely rude customer service!
My husband and I make numerous trips to Fairbanks from Anchorage throughout the summer months due to our kids softball and baseball tournaments. Last summer, I had reserved an RV spot at Rivers Edge RV Park & Campground but plans changed and our daughter's team decided to stay in the hotel. When I called to cancel my reservation the woman was extremely rude and nasty to talk with. She ended the call with, "Do us a favor, and the next time you come to Fairbanks, don't stay here!" I was blown away, the first place in my life I have ever been 86ed from is somewhere I have never even set foot in!
Fast forward to this year... Being an Alaskan and wanting to support local business, I decided to give it another try. I put in a request to reserve an RV spot for my husband when he takes our son to a tournament in June. Nowhere on their website does it mention anything about RV length and site regulations. I put in a request to book a full hook-up for our 26ft camp trailer. Yesterday an employee from Rivers Edge RV Park & Campground called my husband, and essentially yelled at him over the length of our camper. "You won't fit, you can't stay in the spot you are requesting, you can't back up into that site!" (Again, as I said, nowhere online does it state anything about RV lengths and site regulations) When my husband tried to ask questions, she'd cut him off, just repeating the same thing over and over. "Don't call our office, it is closed. Look at your phone. Use the number on your phone to get ahold of us. You know how to do that, right?" She was just down-right mean.
We are disappointed in the costumer service we've received, so much so I decided to write this review (my first ever). As a host of a vacation rental, I would never treat my guests the way we have been treated. Two strikes and we have learned our lesson, we will make sure to always stay somewhere else when we...
Read moreThe campsites are OK but the bathrooms could use a serious cleaning at least 3 times a day for the amount of people here, they are only cleaned once a day which is clearly not enough. This RV park needs to replace most of the showers and sinks, most are cracked or broken. They could also use some intensive customer service training. The "manager" of this park will walk right past you and say nothing, common courtesy would be to say good morning or afternoon, but no she just pushes her self right by without a word. Hum, sad since we are the reason she gets paid. When we arrived they said they had cable TV, well yes they have it but the device on most sites is missing , when I questioned it I was told that they didn't have any splitters but I could go buy one, if I did that it would mean that they are not providing what I paid for. When I questioned that they told me to find a site where there was a splitter and take it, that required pliers and a screwdriver.... hummmm....not helpful at all, and this park is rated 8 10 8 by good Sam????? Good Sam you better keep better track...
