We were very anxious to stay here and the room was very clean, well decorated and had a comfortable bed. The service fell very short of a 4 star hotel and for the price of the room. Upon check in we were never told that housekeeping was only on request. The next day we returned after lunch to find our wet towels still. on the floor. There was no information in the room or on the website to indicate that this was how things were handled. We went downstairs and inquired and were told that upon check in we should have been advised, but they would try and get someone to handle by the time we came back from dinner. Upon returning we found replaced towels and bath mat but no washcloths. Again we went to front desk at about 7:15 and they could only find one washcloth as there were no others clean at that time. We went to bed at 9pm and around 10pm there was banging on the door to deliver a washcloth. The other issue was room service, which was ordered the night before for 7am delivery. At 7:30 we still had no food, after 12 minutes on hold we were advised it would up shortly. When it finally arrived our coffee was in papercups! The food was in plastic containers...no table or tray and not very warm. Given the fact there was only 1 chair in the room and a desk, we had to take turns eating. A four star hotel at $350/night should not be delivering room service in paper cups/containers and clearly not 45+ minutes late. We would not have ordered coffee except that coffee is not available until 8:30 in the lobby...there is only coffee...regular no decaf. If you want tea you have to go to the restaurant and find someone to make a cup. I would find it very hard to...

Stayed in this hotel for our anniversary. Two nights ended up being $735 despite the initial price of $200 a night. Advertised as a new luxury hotel but has a bad smelling odor soon as you enter the lobby. You won't get used to it either it will always stink when you're in the lobby. Other people have mentioned this in reviews before so apparently that is to remain apart of the experience. The room cover rate is $100 a night plus around $37 in taxes (a night) and don't expect to get that back. They offer you a credit of $25 to be used at the bars/ restaurant but that is already being applied to your room rate anyway. So it's just a lure to get you to spend more at the hotel, again with added fees and taxes. The room was okay but they load your fridge with drinks and a basket on the table filled with snacks, drinks, and a candle. Each individually priced so don't assume anything advertised is complimentary. You will have to empty the priced items from the fridge before having space to add anything.

The highlight is the rooftop events they may have with DJ's as well as the location being close to King Street in Old Town. That being said this experience is not worth the $365 price point for a night, especially considering the stank air you'll be forced to breathe. No on-site parking so obviously you have to pay for parking as well. You'll either be paying an additional $45 a night plus fees+taxes+tip or parking in a nearby garage that they won't suggest as an option. There are other luxury/boutique hotels in the area so please consider all these other options before settling with Heron Hotel. If you do come here just bring a mask for...

On September 29, 2025, I attended a party at the Heron Hotel that started in one of the suites and later moved to the rooftop. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable evening turned into an extremely disappointing experience at the rooftop bar.||||Our party had a reserved section, and although a waitress occasionally came around, service was inconsistent, so my husband and I decided to order directly from the bar — which turned out to be our biggest mistake.||||Ignored at the Bar: While I stood at the counter, a male bartender never acknowledged me but immediately served a Caucasian couple who walked up beside me. Another bartender who had just finished with another guest looked straight at me without saying a word until I had to address her first.||||Unprofessional Behavior & Allergy Concern: When I ordered a margarita, I noticed she began making it with orange juice. I quickly and politely informed her of my allergy. Instead of responding professionally, she angrily discarded the drink, muttered under her breath, and then attempted to reuse the same shaker that had contained orange juice. This was unacceptable and unsafe.||||Hostile Attitude Toward Guests: The same bartender became visibly agitated, not just with me, but also snapped at my husband for simply asking about Baileys in an espresso martini. The entire interaction was hostile and unwelcoming.||||Despite the poor service, I paid for our drinks and still left a 20% tip out of courtesy, as we were also ordering on behalf of another couple.
