Francis Hall delivers New York City-level cocktails and atmosphere in the heart of Alexandria’s Old Town.

Do not let the fact that this intimate cocktail lounge is tucked inside a hotel hallway bias you against a visit. This is not your standard corporate copy and paste lobby bar.

The menu includes unique fare (like a cocktail involving fennel and mint, delicate and refreshing) with more familiar offerings (the classic French 75).

The aesthetic is dim and moody. With bar seating and booths for two around the perimeter, it is not the ideal venue for groups, but it makes perfect sense for dates or a cozy conversation over drinks with a friend.

Went for one midweek cocktail and ended up staying for… more 😅. The staff were very knowledgeable and eager to hear from customers about the kind of drinks they usually enjoy and what they wanted from their drinks on the night. Super receptive to feedback while serving up delicious drinks. The atmosphere is also cool and welcoming, without an ounce of pretension, a rare combo in a cocktail bar IMO! It has all the ingredients for a great evening!

Francis Hall is an intimate spot, not very big but dim lighting and chill ambiance. Bar expertise Jabari was a big highlight and delight, along with the soulful saxophone of Terrell Ambrose!
