This place was horrible. Let me explain. We had 3 nights. 1st night my son had bug bites, we weren't sure what they were. Thought maybe mosquitoes at the time. 2nd night he wakes me at midnight points out the bugs, we take pics, go to front desk. I proceeded to apologize to the lady like I was some inconvenience and asked for another room for rest of night. She proceeds to point at a moving bed bug and speak to the other guy in another language and then tell me "there's no bugs" the beds can not get bed bugs because they are new and made to not get bed bugs. The whole thing shocked me. I said u can't point at moving bed bugs and say there are none. She then said "whatever u get the room next door" I said no I don't absolutely not next to an infestation. She argued and threw her hands in the air and said u can have 3 doors down are you happy now? That's when my fiance had enough sent her out told her we will need a refund and are leaving. ( I admit I was not too educated with this bug). To make matters worse instead of a refund she continued to call us liars, escalate the situation, and eventually call the cops on us because we continued to ask for the 3rd night refunded. Cops told us they are aware of that hotel, it isn't their first time, and they were able to get the lady to refund us and let us get on our way. The low price is for a reason. Not because the town is small. And unfortunately we can't take google reviews for face value as we will ask locals first then...

We were quite late in checking-in due to a late day at my job and a long drive. The nice thing was that Motel 6 management called me to make sure everything was good... actually as I was pulling into the parking lot. Check-in was quick, courteous and efficient...and so was check-out.
We stayed in room 110. The room looked recently renovated. It was spotless...hardwood floors were attractive and appreciated. The bathroom wasn't cramped at all. It was clean and had just enough towels and wash clothes. I'm sure you could get extra if requested. The sink area was spacious, clean and fully functional. There was a small fridge and a nice size tv with plenty of channel options. We had a king size bed; which was fairly firm (of course it was sort clean as well). We only had 3 pillows; that weren't super fluffy, but not flat either... probably would have liked 4 total, for 2 people. The heat/air unit worked fine... We left the fan on all night and it wasn't too loud, but we're used to sleeping with white-noise background anyway. We could not have asked for a better room; especially at the super affordable price!
The restaurant next door (Airedale Diner) is absolutely fantastic and just a few steps out the door (separate review forthcoming somewhere on Google). GREAT, affordable breakfast!
Had an overall great experience for a simple overnight...
Read moreWe went to this location because the one in Van Buren was not good. See my review for that location for more info. This location in Alma accommodated us with only a few minutes notice after we refused to stay at the Van Buren location. The rooms were advertised as having two queen beds, but they were only double beds and not very comfortable. There were yellow splattered stains on the air conditioner in one of the two rooms and the shower curtain stunk. The sink was stopped up, so I went to the office to tell them and they gave me a plunger. I fixed it myself and had no more major problems with it. Keep in mind that this is a motel, not a hotel or 5-star resort. We needed a place to sleep while seeing the sites and visiting family. As far as the staff, I would definitely say that they were very nice and helpful. I would recommend staying at this location if you need a cheaper place to stay and based on the staff being so polite, not rude at all. It's also in a beautiful area across the street from Alma Lake which has a great view if you drive around to the parking area and walk down to the lake. I would be willing to stay here again if I went back for another visit. The surrounding area also looks much safer than the one in Van Buren and my family later told me that the Van Buren location has problems with drugs...
