Dragon Express — Restaurant in Anaheim

This use to be my favorite chinese food place pre-covid. Ive gone back since, and the place and food have gone downhill drastically. I have tried to convince myself many times that maybe it will get better only to be dissappointed over and over but i am now convinced this place will not go back to its good old days.

First, the food is not as tasteful as it use to be. The asian lady looks exhausted and unwelcoming every time i go. The place use to feel a lot more welcoming and it used to be cleaner.

I went yesterday and it will be my final time i ever go. As i arrived i noticed the chow mein had been sitting out for a while, looking dry. I asked her if she was having any new chow mein out soon she said no that it had just been put out. I ordered chow mein, orange chicken and kung pao.

As i sat and ate my food and realized how disgusting the food was, i was saddened... The orange chicken was dry and tasteless and the chicken tasted old The chow mein tasted bad! The kung pao was not spicy as it use to be and i barely had pieces of chicken...

I got home and got extremely sick from the food. I threw up and had chills.

When a Chinese fast food joint doesn't offer samples, they should expect customers who eat there to occasionally want to return an item. This is why samples are given out, to avoid wastage. Pandemic or not, it's a convenience for the seller and the buyers. The "BBQ pork" there is atrocious! Typical good BBQ pork is pink &/or red on the outer edge with a moist, light gray-toned center. As we've grown accustomed to getting. Theirs was dark, brick red. It was so over cooked the the moment the fork attempts to go through it, it splits in half. It's that dry & over cooked. See the photos. And when I asked to exchange it out for another item, she smugly looks at you and smiles, saying "no." Why in the hell did this place have a 4.x review on Google is beyond me. Avoid this place like the plague. Yoshinoya is better than this Alpo... In fact, Alpo is better than this trash. Such a...

Came here after seeing it was under new ownership and didn’t like my last visit under old owners. Not much has changed.

There was no food grade outside on the window which was red flag one. Went inside and saw that old food had been sitting under lamps and the mess in the dining room of boxes. Tried it despite it all. Servings are REALLY SMALL ( the box is sooo small compared to other places) & flavor is bland. I left hungry.

Sadly for us, we saw a roach crawling on the dining room floor after we had already finished eating . Disgusting. Probably why we didn’t see a food grade outside. Will not revisit...
