I recently took a trip to the area and this was the best-reviewed Quality Inn in the entire Raleigh-Durham Triangle area. And while it's an older facility that's a bit rough around the edges, it delivers where it counts.||The two story lobby has an arched staircase along with some more modern design elements. Unlike a lot of Quality Inns that have this basic layout, this one does have an elevator for guest use. Once you leave the lobby area, the hotel begins to show its age - the paint on the doors and frames needs to be touched up in spots, and the elevator also wears battle scars. The hallway carpet on the second floor is uneven in the vicinity of the elevator, and could be a trip hazard.||My room was 268, which is all the way at the end of the hallway. The work desk was badly scratched up and some of the wood was splintering off. The padded footstool was also worn through in spots. There was no stopper in the bathtub. The provided TV remote was one of those limited-function universal units that wouldn't let me select the TV's external HDMI or USB inputs, despite the TV itself having plenty of both.||On the other hand, the usual Choice Hotels wi-fi issues were mostly nonexistent - I only got signed off once, and that was right at 3PM between my first and second nights, which corresponds with check-in time. The room was clean and comfortable outside of the problems I mentioned above, and overall, I was able to overlook most of them and enjoy my stay. There were some interesting furniture pieces in the room too, like the large granite table next to the upholstered chair.||I'd rank breakfast as being middle of the road - no meats available but otherwise a good spread of food. Staff service was excellent with one exception - but it did seem odd that the staffer in question (about 6:45 Tuesday morning when I came down for breakfast) couldn't take my late check-out request and told me to call down later. The lady who checked me out, however, offered me a bottle of water while I waited for my ride to arrive.||The Quality Inn & Suites Apex-Holly Springs shows its age and I did experience some minor inconveniences during my two-night visit. But at least wi-fi access wasn't among those hassles this time - and the hotel delivered on the most important thing - a room that was clean, relaxing, and...
Read moreDefinitely not my favorite hotel in the Choice Hotel's chain. I'm here for work. I booked three King rooms for the team. We checked in and they were all double queens. When I called and asked, they told me that "they were running low on King rooms, so made the decision to switch us".... what? They actually HAVE king rooms available.... they were just thinking they'd run out... well THAT IS WHY PEOPLE BOOK ROOMS BY ROOM SIZE!
There is no desk. Just this tiny little two person side table thing in the room. I asked if the king rooms had desks. They checked and said all the king rooms with desks are already booked. The others just had this little table thing like mine does already...
I asked about the wifi. I'm getting 1.18mb downloads. I was curious if being closer to the center of the hotel would have better services. She said "Oh, you're already IN the good area. That's the best service in the hotel."
Really? I try to be a good guest, but being a diamond member basically means we book hotels at least every 8 days out of the year all year long.... and to have your room changed to a cheaper one without being asked isn't cool. No desk is going to make the next three nights of work lots of fun...
As far as cleanliness, and the polite staff, they're great. The staff is nice, courteous, helpful. The rooms are clean. I'm just a little miffed at the decision by the manager to throw us at the end of the line when the hotel...
Read moreMy son had a late baseball game in Apex so we were looking for a nice place at an affordable price. I came across this property online but was a little wary because it was almost half of the cost of others in this area. After I read some of the good reviews, I booked on whim and hoped for the best. Let’s just say I have not been disappointed. There isn’t anything wrong with the outside of the property at all, it just doesn’t do the inside justice. I was not prepared for what I saw when I walked into the lobby. From the beautiful ceramic flooring to the cascading staircase, I was in awe. The entire property that I’ve seen looks newly renovated. Not the fast, patchwork, house-flipping renovations like I’ve seen at some of the properties at Myrtle Beach. Our room had beautiful wood grain ceramic tiles on the floor leading up to the new carpet. The shower also had the large ceramic panels installed with luxury fixtures throughout. Our room was directly across the hall from the elevator, but the room was laid out in a way that the walls had to be noise-reducing because I never heard a noise from the elevator or even the hall. Then there’s the staff…..the nicest, most helpful people imaginable. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I will definitely book here every time we are close by. If this property is on your...
