I saw an advertisement while driving through Apex showing Tonkotsu Ramen available at the newly opened Sora. Decided to stop in for lunch. The staff was very kind and welcoming and no issues whatsoever with the service. The Tonkotsu Ramen advertised wasn't available.. which should have been a flag to come back another time but I decided to order something else since I already came out. I went with an order of Bang Bang Shrimp off the appetizer menu and black pepper steak. Here is where my 1-star review comes from... The food. For the high price of the appetizer, it literally has 6 1/2 shrimp placed over a few pieces of cut lettuce.. and not even big shrimp, it was slightly bigger than salad shrimp. It was actually insulting straight off the rip that they serve such a portion for top dollar. It has decent taste but it was overwhelming seeing that right away. I tried to laugh it off in my head and soon after the pepper steak came out. Again, portion size. There was maybe 10 slices of beef. Very very thin cut beef, the dish should have been called onion pepper, with beef scraps. Again quite offended for the price that they think it's ok to cut portions down this significantly. I would suggest maybe letting people know on parentheses next to the appetizer how much shrimp you are selling on the menu, as well as maybe show a pic of the pepper steak so people can see it hardly has protein. I honestly don't leave reviews often or at all and the staff was very kind which made me feel bad for not giving a bad review but it is what it is. I am not a pig where I expect huge portions but this was shocking to the point I felt I needed to leave my thoughts in a review. Personally I will not be back, again due to how meager the portions are for top...
Read moreWe visited this sushi and ramen restaurant on Wednesday and had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The food was absolutely delicious – everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, which really made the meal feel special. The sushi rolls were perfectly prepared, and the ramen was rich, comforting, and full of depth. What impressed us most, aside from the food, was the attentive service. Our waiter, Tim, went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. From start to finish, every request we made was handled with genuine attention and care, which made the evening even more enjoyable. He was friendly, welcoming, and ensured that everything at our table was just right without ever making us feel rushed. It’s rare to find a place that balances excellent food with such warm hospitality, but this restaurant managed to do both effortlessly. We left feeling satisfied, appreciated, and excited to come back. Highly recommend this spot to anyone craving authentic, high-quality sushi and ramen in a cozy and...
Read moreExquisite! I’m picky when it comes to my sushi, and decided to visit here on a spur of the moment craving. They seem fairly new, but the interior is gorgeous. Everything is clean and streamlined. They keep the restaurant cool and fresh, and it seemed very well-maintained in general. The server was a very sweet woman who complimented my Sailor Moon shirt, and was incredibly attentive. The sushi was delicious, affordable, fresh, and the presentation really was stunning! While I don’t live near this locale, I would be willing to make the 20+ min drive from where I live, simply for the self-care of delicious, affordable sushi with friendly staff and a clean restaurant. I think my only suggestion would be to play music that may be a bit more fitting for the ambiance - not that I don’t enjoy Maroon 5 or Adele, but they’ve put so much work into the restaurant really having that sleek, modern Japanese vibe that some music that was a little more themed (maybe some Lo-fi?) would have been icing...
