We were planning to stay in town for one night and had a reservation somewhere else. Upon check in there we decided that was not the safest or best decision. So we drove straight over to the Appomattox Inn hoping they'd have a room for 4 people on short notice. When we walked in, a beautiful fresh smell greeted us along with two unbelievable employees who became our angels that day! The lobby is gorgeous by the way! A well appointed bar for those who partake. So Rebecca and Carson set us up with a great room. We have 2 teenagers and needed a roll away bed and some extra pillows and blankets. Carson promptly had them at our door! Our room was spacious and spotless! Everything about this place was just so welcoming! We felt safe and comfortable! We went out to dinner based on one of the recommendations from staff, it was a delicious home-cooked style meal! We loved it!!!! After a good rest and a hot shower, we went downstairs for breakfast! And a lovely filling breakfast it was! Eggs, ham, sausage, Biscuits, gravy, potatoes, Waffles, breads, muffins, cereals, yogurts, fruits, juices, teas and fresh hot coffee! The breakfast staff was all smiles and making sure to keep things filled and exceptionally clean! Our check out was quick and easy! In all my years, I've never encountered a place like this! I was told this hotel has 4 private owners. Who clearly want things a very specific way and holds a high standard for their staff. The details included here are because they have the guests in mind 100%. It's all about you. Lots of little amenities at a reasonable price. I'm positive they have tons of repeat customers! We would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you all so much for your love and...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's 2 yrs old and sits in a space surrounded by not much! However, their customer service is stellar! The rooms are just the right size for whatever your needs, and the beds are comfortable and inviting. There is a pool and a patio area thats gated away from the pool where you can relax, chill maybe watch a Sunset. They have a little wine bar and cozy seating area too. The Continental Breakfast is included and wasn't bad. The place is spotless no crumbs, spilled coffee or sticky sugar drops in the dining area (huge for continental). When we arrived after landing in Richmond, then having to go directly to see my Grandmother who was not well with the temps reaching 97" in the shade, my MoM didn't feel well. The Appomattox Inn and Suites was so very kind and let us check in early so she could lay down and I could go back and visit my ailing Grandmother. That intentional act of kindness will forever remain in my memory and I would recommend this hotel to anyone just for that alone. But, also the accommodations were very nice as well. The only thing that I would suggest is to have a restaurant where you can sit down and have a 'home' cooked meal or partner with a restaurant to open near you (there are your basic fast-food joints within range and jack of all trade gas station where you can get a hot meal, libations, lottery and single size over the counter rx). So a restaurant family style, would serve this establishment well!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and will if I am...
Read moreI'm late doing this review, but I didn't want to forget and not do it. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Appomattox Inn and Suites the end of September 2024. We hesitated to make reservations there because it was small and not associated with one of the large chain hotels. But, we had no choice since there are no large chain hotels in the area. When we arrived, we were so pleased with the building and landscaping. The front desk staff was very efficient and very pleasant to deal with. Our room was like a new room that no one had ever used, it was so clean. The front desk was most helpful about recommending restaurants and giving directions. Housekeeping went out of their way to make sure we had exactly what we needed for a two night stay. I do want to make two suggestions to the management though. As senior citizens, we were surprised that the shower did not have grab bars. It was a little unnerving to try to take a shower with nothing to grab on to if we felt like we might fall. Also, the shower head was horrible. The shower was a stand alone, no tub, and it was nice and large, but when you turned the shower on ready for a nice, long hot shower and a little dribble came out with hardly any force, that was disappointing to say the least. But, overall, we give this hotel 5 stars and would certainly stay there again! Thank you, Appomattox...
