honestly it was horrible.... I have never stayed in such a horrible place before.. and being all the way from kansas city mo I had no choice but to stay in the extended stay. Not to mention, no internet over half the time I was there and when there was internet they had it for only 2 weeks. I had to fork out money to buy silverware, pots, pans, plates and a scensty burner because it smelled like mold and death.. They couldn't give us any dishes etc claimed they kept getting stolen. Room was 98 degrees shooting out hot air. Had to move everything at 10 pm at night with no help from the staff into a room with roaches and an ant infestation.the bathtub was clogged and had black crap floating out of it, the sink was clogged, a board with nails was on the ground around the ac, the lamp had like blood splattered on it.... a whole in the door to the bedroom, the carpet was filthy, in the safe was a open package of k2. synthetic marijuana. a screen to the window was under the bed, the fridge froze all of our food in the fridge.. not to mention I had some guy who called the room and after a short convo of him knowing the person he was looking for was not me and was not in that hotel room and had not been. he told me i better be in bed by the time he got there. I called the front desk to let them know they did not act surprised or even a care in the world. they did not screen my calls, to see if they were trying to even reach the correct person. They gave me a room key without even seeing me before because my fiancee dealt with the front desk. I just said My key was not working, told her the room and instantly she handed one over. also the keys for the room worked maybe 10 percent of the time. We have about 20 keys in our van from the stay. which are keys from a different hotel across the street. that guy i told you about calling. yeah he showed up again. this time i finally saw him, someone had been knocking on my door and when i looked i would see no one. well this time i stood there watching the peep hole. he knocked again moved as fast as he could to the other side and waited. he was wearing a ball cap, sunglasses, etc. I was scared to death.. had 2 kids with me and my fiancee was at work. the front desk would not answer all day!! I did not leave my room until my fiancee got home. and this is not everything... I could not even look for a place to rent because the internet was down non stop. we had to pay for an extra night so we could hopefully find somewhere to rent. didn't happen, I came back to kc. oh but hang on, we only had to pay 5 dollars for that one night extra.. for all of our trouble......... I feel they should of done a lot more then having us pay 5 bucks...
Read moreCalled Motel 6's booking department and asked for a clean hotel or motel with a fully equipped kitchen. The booking agent assured us that this was a fresh motel that had just been built 3 years ago and it would have everything we needed to cook with. Well, that turned out to be a complete lie. First of all, it was NOT built 3 years ago. After some research I found out that it was actually an old apartment complex that was CONVERTED to an extended stay motel 3 years ago.||So we arrived at the main lobby. "Face masks required at all times" but nobody but us was wearing them, not even the employees. Don't be fooled by the nice and clean lobby area like we were. Once we got to the room (which was in a separate building than the lobby), I noticed a lot of shady people drifting around in the parking lot. Also the front doors to the buildings where the rooms are were not locked so anyone could come in off the street. People roaming around in the hallways.||Second shock was when we entered the room and turned on the lights to see cockroaches running every which way on the floors! We encountered roaches throughout the evening and next morning as well. They were crawling on the awlls, and got into the beds several times. I was bitten by roaches three times while laying in the bed and when I woke up in the morning there was a roach on top of my phone next to me.||The room's kitchen was also anything but fully equipped. One spoon, two forks, a few butter knives and a can opener. That's it. Not fun trying to fry patties from ground beef without a spatula, in a worn out frying pan where everything was sticking. Also, the stove was missing a knob so only one burner could be used.||The bathroom sink had a bad case of water hammer so everytime it was turned on it sounded like a pneumatic hammer was turned on.||Very undesirable and suspicious people kept roaming around in the parking lot outside all night. It really did not feel like a safe place.||Of course I tried calling the lobby but the phone connection was horrible and I couldn't understand what the girl was saying. I went down to the lobby and she said there was nothing she could do and I would have to speak to the manager next day. I tried calling asking for him but he was never in. Asked them to have him call me but he never did. I called there a total of at least 6 times. Eventually they just started hanging up on me as soon as I said my name.||I finally called Motel 6's corporate office and demanded a refund which I...
Read moreI'm surprised that a lot of the reviews I've seen here. I'm not sure what people expect, but I think a lot of these reviews are blown out of proportion at least from what I've experienced. I've always been a fan of motel. 6. My son and I use them frequently whenever we travel. I didn't know until December that they even had an extended stay format. We came here for Christmas because we had a issue with in-laws so it worked out perfect. But now I am in need of an extended stay place until around May or June. I first went to extended stay America and looked at a few other places. But believe me when I tell you that if you compare them to this place, you will not find another that even comes close to this studio. 6. Whenever you come home to this place, it doesn't even feel like a hotel. The rooms are spacious. They are clean and the fixtures are much newer compared to the surrounding competitors. At the end of the day, it's nice to come to a place that feels more like home than you would expect. I have a lot of irons in the fire right now and then away from my family for a bit, so things have felt a bit strange, so it's nice to have a spacious, clean, quiet, safe and friendly place to come home to after a long hard days work. I'm sorry that the people in the review section had such an unpleasant experience here. But as far as my experience is concerned, i am very glad that I chose this place to stay temporarily, not just because it's close to work, but because I've really enjoyed the time I've been here so far. I just booked two more weeks and if the situation calls for it I will book two more without hesitation. If anything changes for good or bad while I stay here, I will certainly update this review. But as of now, I have no reason to think that my opinion would change. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an extended stay format, for however, long or for whatever reason. The laundry facilities are new. There is a small workout section and a pretty decent informational kiosk with lots of pamphlets. The lobby is nice, clean and welcoming, and the folks the front desk, especially the manager, are always...
