I stated here for one night only after attending a concert downtown, and I’ve got to start by saying this is one of the WORST motels I’ve visited in the US.
The only reason I’m not giving this place 1 star is because we chose it because it was cheap, so I knew we weren’t getting commodities.
+++++++++++++++++++++ TL;DR version of this review:
Recommended if you’re on a budget, but if you can spare the $10-20 extra to get something better, GO FOR IT. The rooms do have working A/C. Big fyi: THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BRING KIDS. +++++++++++++++++++++
So let’s start with the good:
the place was cheap and relatively near downtown (which is the main two reasons why we chose it)
the staff attending the desk was very nice
The room had A/C which worked as expected. I’ve been to other motels where the A/C unit just doesn’t work or freezes you to death; the one here worked pretty well.
Now with the bad:
First of all, as soon as we got in the room you could smell the stench of cigarette, even though we rented a non-smoking room. The reason probably was that the rooms in the second floor were smoking rooms, and the aisle outside the room was full with people from the non-smoking rooms smoking (because smoking in a non-smoking room triggered an alarm).
The room was NOT clean. I’m not talking dusty dirty, but in the middle of the room we found a big, nasty hairball (picture attached) and the bathroom (pictures attached) and light switches (pictures attached) did not look clean.
The room in general looked like it hadn’t been maintained in AGES: the shower’s roof was falling apart (picture attached), the TV was from the pre-digital era and we could not get it to work, and the bed sheets had cigarette burns in them, so they were clearly tring to hold to them as long as possible before changing them.
This is clearly a bang-and-leave motel, as noted the morning before we left when the LOUD banging and screaming from the couple having s3x next door woke us up. The wall dividing the rooms was probably dry-wall or similar, since honestly we could hear all the “heavy talking” the couple had. This is my main reason to NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN.
So to close things up, I can only recommend this place if: a) you’re low on cash and need a cheap place to sleep and bath b) you’re partner is willing to spend the night in a not-so-clean place c) you only want to bang d) you only intend to spend a...

Today at approx 5:30 pm I showed up to collect the keys for my room at the budget inn off of I-35 in Austin. I am a transgender woman so I may appear different to some people and my car doesn't have AC and I was a bit distraught because my living situation is unstable and I was coming so I could have a night of peace before work in the morning. I am a bus driver so as you can understand sleep is important to me. The person working the front desk at approx 5:30 pm on August 7th, 2020, asked me to fill out my name and I scribbled it down because I thought it was in the system electronically. She asked me to write it more comprehensibly, and I did as she asked. She then asked if I needed another card, to which I replied, "You can't read that?" She said she could not. So without knowing what else to do, I tried to write it more slowly and legibly for her not knowing if she could read my normal handwriting (which is admittedly messy) if she gave me another card. She must have took offense to this because she then refused me service saying I had an "attitude." I asked what I had an attitude about because I was puzzled at the time, and then apologized even though I was unsure what she took offense over until later because in my view what I did wasn't done with the intent to offend anyone. I then tried to explain my situation but she refused to interact with me at all from that point forward. The result is that I had to go back home to my roommate who won't let me sleep due to playing loud music. What the employee did was uncalled for and though I admit that I could have handled the situation better (I was surprised and bewildered and panicking about work the next day) I genuinely don't think writing my name down on a piece of paper warranted a denial of service. I won't be coming back and I won't recommend your hotel to anyone in the future. It is ridiculous to deny service over such a minor matter as writing a name on a piece of paper. Btw the response form on their website is broken so if you go through the same thing don't...
Read moreOkaaay....so, this ls not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but rather the Communist "Reimagine" team currently running the city.....and, as it is, nearly EVERY major city in the US. CHECK MIRRORS AND in-room devices for cameras! Recently, we have found hidden secret wireless cameras behind mirrors in public park restrooms, connected to hidden wifi networks. This is the case in nearly every neighborhood in Austin, and is thought to be the work of the city in conjunction with the appropriately named neighborhood WATCH groups. It appears that anyone in the secret "club", as it were, (which we believe to be a large majority of the population of Austin, Texas) can tap into these hidden networks where they can view these cameras, locate specific vehicles and persons designated for harassment and vandalism, and various other illegal activities. As these "Reimagine" teams have positioned themselves in every major city, and pilfered city coffers with the publics unquestioning tacit approval, we have very good reason to believe these type of illegal surveillance networks are operating in every one of those cities under the control of the Communists.
Before I am dismissed as crazy by those of you NOT in the "know", who i imagine would be non-homeowners, mainly....those of you not involved with an HOA or neighborhood watch group.......go to a city park. Check the bathroom mirrors. Ask your city's Parks and Rec department what the "Community Development Services" (might be a different title in your city) sub- department does, and why so much money is funneled into such a non-descript ambiguous department for seemingly no reason. Get a wifi network analyzer app from play store and check for hidden networks in your area.
This is how its being done, folks. If you know what im referring to when i say "it", then i dont need to say anymore. You know what to do. Organize to defeat.
If you are in an HOA, and/or neighborhood watch group......you might want to start watching something else. Like, your backs.
The targeted are...
