Having never had it I excitedly yet naively went in search of birria tacos for Cinco de Mayo and was sorely disappointed to learn that it takes special preparation and thus is only a weekend item much like menudo and other special dishes. Undaunted I got Mexican street tacos al pastor and split a gringa al pastor with my buddy who also got a chicken fajita burrito. He said it was honestly the best burrito he'd had in his life. I loved it too. Green and red salsa were on point and they have great homemade escabeche akin to giardiniera.
