Here’s a complete review. From the time you walk in it smells Amazing in the Lobby. Staff is super friendly. I believe her name was (Marina) got us all checked in quickly, explained everything including the easiest way to get to our room. We even asked about a couple places to eat; she gave recommendations and then got a scratch piece of paper and drew us a map so we could avoid having to get back on I-35!!! We go up to our room and it just so happens someone is walking out as we are approaching. We go back down and explain, she profusely apologized multiple times and checked her books (someone just didn’t check out as they should have). Human nature that things happen. She immediately got us into another room. Could not be more pleased with her customer service. Onto the room: Very clean, comfortable, and great size. Has plugs on both sides of bed. The hotel itself does have a slight musty smell, but it is an older building. You can tell they have also put lots of work into updating it. Felt safe the entire time. Complimentary breakfast was excellent! (Better than some of the big name brands). Would definitely stay again. Great price, easy access, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, excellent staff. Also did not hear any interstate traffic even though our room was closest to it.

EDIT EDIT EDIT!!!!!! BED BUGS!!!!!! We were itchy all night but didn't think twice...when packing up in the morning, we noticed these little bugs on the bed, upon a closer look: BED BUGS! I immediately got our things in the hallway and hit against the wall. Went to walmart to get a several spacesaver bags to isolate our stuff. I told the front desk girl (Jessica) who didn't seem to care with a reply of "...okay, did you want the manager to give you a call about this?" The pictures make the spaces bigger, much much bigger than in reality. This is a Motel 6 with an Orange pop of color. First, our reservation was mixed up somehow, the building had a stale smell, gum on the sides of the night stands, mix & match towels. The windows are so thin, we actually thought they were open because of the cars on the freeway. Another thing I don't understand is a room with two double/queen beds has a max of two occupants without incurring additional fees per guests/per night! Best of all, there are a couple of small renovation in progress signs to justify the smell and paint spill on the elevator floor but still charge full price. I do not recommend this Motel. We ended up here because the places we normally stay were booked up with the events going on.

We paid 70% of the usual price per room through a sale on Orbitz. It was a good deal, and the hotel was nicer than expected. The groundskeeper does a great job with the outdoor spaces, and the inside is a step up from the usual. The complimentary breakfast was also great, with multiple kinds of eggs on the weekend, pork sausage, donuts, fresh fruit salad with melon and pineapple, a selection of cereals and baked goods, plus a coffee bar and juice selection. The staff were all friendly and smiled at us each time, even housekeeping. The only downside to this hotel was a pervasive musty smell from the local humidity. Bring an air freshener, and turn the a/c down while you're away, and it isn't too bad. There is also a Walmart really close, so it's easy to get supplies of any sort. It's just far enough from downtown Austin to be outside of the traffic jams, but near enough to get downtown in minutes for sightseeing. We would definitely stay there again.

If I could leave zero stars I absolutely would. I travel quite frequently for work, normally my HR will hand me all the paperwork on my travel itinerary however my point of contact has been out on personal leave, which left me to book my stays until further notice. I chose Orangewood Inn & Suites, looked quaint & cozy your "midtown" indoor corridor hotel. When I arrived I was accosted by 2 homeless people asking for "whatever I could spare" and when I put my blinker on upon turning into the property there was a homeless encampment by the entrance that made me feel safe, riiight. Check in was okay like I said I travel for my work so checking in and checking out at most places is pretty much the same but the front desk agent took almost 30 min to run down everything. There is a $100 deposit that is a pre-authorized "hold" my apologies but if the $100 "hold" disappears from my bank balance and then takes 5-7 business days to return let's be real Orangewood inn & sweets charges the card! That's just flat out dishonest the way they choose to explain a "hold" BOLOGNA! First entry looks nice, a sparking pool, clean foyer. I was also told "no visitors after 10pm" ha, what is this a halfway house? I work swing hours and also have network contacts here. I wouldn't think of having any company or guest that would be asked to leave because of "quiet time" how silly I guess they do operate on halfway house rules. Was also made aware breakfast is only two hours and is fairly early. When I entered my room there was a funny stale/moldy type smell I figured some places are like that until you get some airflow going. I then checked my bed for the night and found a couple stains on the sheet some hair A BANDAID and a couple small blood spots. Upon notifying the front desk they blamed it on the linen service they use. Offered to move me. Did I mention I travel for work? I'm always prepared I pulled out my own sheet and blanket. Perfect and cozy. Booted up my laptop and got to work until the complimentry internet was awful kept going in & out constantly. Upon arrival they did mention a business center so I went down to utilize it. Not suprised, they have a monitor there for looks that does not connect. Retreated to my satellite office to get my presentation complete. Return tired oh so tired to take a shower and get some rest. The shower pressure was awful and there Were what looked to be some man whisker shavings on the wall of the shower. That's nice. Brush my teeth and hop into bed. Was awoken at 245am with BED BUGS crawling on my blanket and a bite on my arm!! Those things carry disease and can follow you home and completely RUIN YOUR HOME! Thanks orangewood! What in sam hill! I sent an email to my superiors right away. Didn't even think to report it with the linen excuse I received earlier. Couldn't sleep a wink until sunrise I was scared to leave in the middle of the night with the vagrants that camp out and beg for change. Took one look at that morning breakfast and RAN! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR COMPANIES hard earned money at this place! I retreated to The Archer! So much better cleaner and professional service. I believe this place misrepresents the selves on their website. Kind of a false advertisement if you will. There are several other better...

BE AWARE! Awful service! False advertising! I honestly don't know how this hotel is rated a 3 star hotel. Our experience was awful! It is advertised that has a swimming pool, and the girl at the front desk mentioned again that they had the pool when we checked in. We checked in a non-smoking room for 4 nights. We got into our room and the A.C was off (and it's mid-May Austin, 95°F), the fridge was off, and when I tried to call the front desk the phone didn't work. When I went down to the front desk I was given another room the same size. It seemed things got better and they were understing. H a Ha! The next room we were given it smelled like smoke, and the room was hot and humid. The sheets felt damp from humidity . We turned the A.C to a 70 and we just didn't say anything; tired from the road so we decided to not make it a big deal. Breakfast had scrambled eggs but everything seemed old food. Then it was time to go to the pool around 1pm... the pool was closed, and we were told it opens from 5 pm-9 pm. Mind you, it's an outdoor pool. I guess you don't think of sunbathing by the pool, huh!? I asked if the pool was going to have the same schedule during those 4 days we'd be there. Of course! So, I told them that I needed to cut my reservation short since my expectations weren't met and I had booked under their false advertising. Their reasoning was :"We do have a pool, it's just out of service during the day; construction". Hiw rediculous! So, they literally have a swimming pool but not functionally! They gave me 10 minutes, and 10 minutes only to pack and leave, otherwise they'd be charging me for another night. (It was 1:30 p.m). I asked them to give me at least 30 because we had 4 luggages to pack and time to find another hotel. Nope, they wouldn't give a min extra. So, I took everything in the hallway and then I packed there, just so I could check out /return the keys in their 10 minute limit! Awful place to stay at, customer service at its weakest point, and would...

The first time I stayed at this location back in March 2025, everything was great! The lobby smelled SO CLEAN. We were told we would stay on the more quieter side of the hotel. The room did feel a little muggy at first but after adjusting the AC, everything worked out great. Our room was to the far left of the hotel, facing out an apartment complex. Still great privacy. April 2025 we had to come back to Texas for a quick trip. We opted to stay at this location since we had a great experience the first time. The lobby smelled great as usual and again we were told we would stay on the quiet side of the hotel. We were assigned a room that still faced the apartment complex but it was more towards the middle of the hotel this time. This is where my experience slightly changed. The bathroom sink seemed to be clogged. Ok, not a big deal. But later on in the night as I was trying to fall asleep I was able to hear EVERYTHING. There were people staying in the rooms next to us on both sides. The walls felt so thin. I could hear their conversations and the tv. To make the night worse, there was people partying at one of these apartment complex’s. Mind you it’s Sunday and hey idc, party it up BUT NOT THE ENTIRE NIGHT. They were laughing and talking really loudly. I’m not being dramatic, I tried to go to sleep at 11 p.m and these party people did not stop until 6 a.m the next day. Literally the worst sleep? of my life. I totally understand the hotel has no control of this, but man that was irritating. Overall, my first experience still out weighs the second one. To be honest, there were a lot more people staying at this location during this last time compared to the first. I just hope next time we come back, we don’t experience the loud...
