I’m giving it a 2 star because of this hotels cleaning services who cleans the rooms. I stayed for 5 solid days. Since it was just me and I got a room with two double beds I really didn’t want or need cleaning lady to clean daily. But I did leave my room available to be cleaned on 4th day. When I got back to my room in the evening, I noticed she must not have cleaned bathroom...... at all. Used hand towel was left in tub. It was very obvious she didn’t clean the tub because I saw small strands of my hair left on it. When I wash my hair I do remove all I can. But a couple short strands I miss. And actually I’m glad I did or I may not have known she didn’t clean tub. Other than the fact, too that she didn’t take dirty wash cloth. That’s just nasty. For a cleaning service to only make bed and remove trash out of two trash cans and do what looked like nothing else.
The plastic trash from when I used coffee machine was still there. Don’t think she swept or cleaned floors. Don’t know if she vacuumed carpet in room. Hard to tell with the style and patten of carpet.
The people at front desk were nice and helpful when I needed them. I used Shuttle service twice and they were efficient and on time. Trucks look like it needs work done on the inside. They had a pool. The size was useful for about 10 people or so. So if your looking for a medium to large pool, this hotel isn’t the one for you. Which is one reason why I didn’t use pool. Seems to get used most by children and teenagers. It looked like it needed cleaned. Looked a cloudy and too much debris in it. So overall it comes down to cleanliness!!
Space for clothes was absurdly nil. Two very small drawers and a small closet for suits or dresses. They did have a full size iron and ironing board.
Coffee maker was tiny. Coffee was horrible.
Ice machine on two floors not all five. Sign for ice machine on 4th floor. I went to go down to that floor to get some ice only to find out it was broken so I went to the 2nd floor. No big deal for me since I’m very active but could be a big deal for others.
It would be a good idea for either the cleaning crew or someone to check all steps on each floor. I say that because on 2nd floor going to 3rd floor someone has dropped a towel. Could have been someone who had been to pool. Pool area had no towels specifically for pool. Needed to bring one from your room.
Positive notes:
Room had a refrigerator and microwave that a lot of times you won’t get in a hotel.
Had a smart TV
Had Blue Tooth accessible to hook your smart phone to, as well as usable as a charging station.
I really enjoyed the layout of my room.
Air conditioner worked well in my room and easy to control, but as soon as you walk out into hallway is like being hit with massive heat. At least there’s a Starbucks across the street on Evan walk too. And a Denny’s in other side of hotel very easily you can walk too. BTW that Denny’s had awesome coffee. I was nicely surprised enjoying myself on a second cup.
Sorry, I didn’t take pictures of inside room. The outside is set up nice. As you...
Read moreI requested a disabled room and I got a room with no roll in shower as I had asked for when I booked the room. As a diamond club member I then asked could we get an upgrade and was told they didn't have any but I could get a disabled Roll in shower room the next day. I said no, as someone who is disabled it is too hard and stressful for me to go and change rooms day to day. We went to our room only to find out didntt even have a shower chair. I called down and was told they would deliver one to the room. My husband and I went to the market and the chair was in the room when we got back. The next day I put the dirty shower chair in the tub shower and cleaned it off. Really wanting to shower my husband helped me into the shower and I sat down not realizing that it didn't fit the tub right and ended up smashing my toe between it and the tub. After showing I proceeded to open the refrigerator to get some food out to eat too find all my food that we had driven to a market and purchase for our ten day stay was frozen solid. They were foods that could not be saved if they were frozen. I tried to talk to a manager and the manager was either out on a family emergency or wasn't there at the time or would not call me back. I was told by the person that was at the desk to thaw my salad out or that I could come down there and get some snacks in exchange and I explained to them that I needed foods that were specific for me and what was I going to do. I had food that was in there that was thawed foods for my service dog that had been frozen once and could not be refrozen. The woman I talked to was so nonchalant and not caring I asked to talk to a manager and was told he was not in. I had to go and purchase fresh food and have it cooked specifically for my service dog. We were then given a room in exchange that had two double beds instead of the king size bed that had a rolling shower that would constantly flood the bathroom when you used it and you had to use towels to keep the water from going into the rest of the bathroom. On top of that I was give a room with a smaller refrigerator without a freezer in it at all to keep my foods that needed a freezer frozen. The only person that was really helpful was the maintenance man and he proceeded to go and get a larger refrigerator with a freezer and bring it to our room. I feel I got a subpar room and was not happy with the $40 I got back for my food I was so tired of trying to get help that I just took the loss. It didn't make me happy that I could not talk to a manager or I never got a we're sorry for all you had to go through... As a person who has to walk with a rolling walker and have to be physically aided to lift my legs into a tub I was very clear I needed a shower for safety. I booked this room way in advance and was clear about my disability. This doesn't seem to be your policy to keep your word with your customer. We use your chain for business and with the hope of a consistency of...
Read moreEvery year I have a three month gig that takes me all over the state of Texas, and we stay exclusively in La Quinta hotels (unless we absolutely cannot) bc the company partners with them - so I stay in more than 50 La Quinta hotels every year. The renovations are excellent, and while it’s not as nice as a lot of La Quinta’s, it’s really not bad. The service, however - At check in I was asked for a home address, something no other La Quinta asks for, I try to give the corporate address the card is under - no, I need your address Fine. Then, unlike other hotels, they need my phone number - annoying, but also fine. The room was fine, better than some for sure. Hot and cold were reversed in the shower, and the AC isn’t great, but overall not a bad place to stay. The next day, I return to the hotel, go to my room - cards don’t work. That not a big deal, it happens, so o go get them reprogrammed. Go back upstairs - again they don’t work. Third time, reprogrammed, the nice lady at the desk says she has given me new cards - they don’t work. Keep in mind unlike most hotels, the elevators are at the very end of the hallway wings - as far as you can get from the front desk, so it’s a walk and a wait. The fourth time, the lady comes with me to the room to make sure I can open it - elevator freezes and she says “it needs to be reset again” So we go all the way to the other end of the hotel to the other elevator, go up, and both my fourth round keys and her key doesn’t work. She politely and apologetically asks me to wait there. I wait for about 10 min, and the manager comes up and says “here’s your keys. They should work…” and they do - wish it had been that way from the start - and he tells me maybe I did it wrong, which I said not only wasn’t true but the front desk key didn’t work. He says maybe it’s the battery and to let him know. Fine. I go across the street for a drink, come back, wait in line to grab some snacks from the market - I pull out some cash and he says “credit or debit only” Okay, my business card is upstairs - “can you charge it to my room?” I ask - the business card in question - “no.” So I put the snacks back and walk to my room. This is not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, but it’s much less accommodating that most La Quinta hotels. They’re building a new one on i35 about fifteen minutes away, and I will be staying there...
