The place itself was fine. BUT - we had a 2 bedroom for 6 nights. This has to be the worst place to stay because of the traffic noise. It is directly beside the onramp to Interstate 10 and right beside the 6 lane I10. All DAY and Night the traffic noise is too much to take. I asked to change rooms - nothing available (asked 2 different days). The worst part is that all the 2 bedrooms are on that side of the building. We are loyal Marriott travelers, and this is the worst experience EVER over the last 30 years with them. You know it is a problem when the front desk has ear plugs and sound machines for their guests. They did give me some ear plugs but were out of sound machines. Had to sleep (and not much of that) with ear plugs + pillow over my head + an sound app on my phone - and could still hear the traffic. The onramp create soooooo much noise from trucks, loud cars and motorcycles as they build speed to get onto the interstate. They have to get this noise problem fixed or close this place and move on. Would NEVER recommend staying here - nor ever return. At almost $300/night was a waste of money. One other odd thing - part way through the stay, they charged my credit card for 4 days out of the 6 and appeared to check me out. In checking with the front desk - said they charge the card on file once the balance is $1,000. Who does things like that at a property like this?? So annoying - wasn't even a discount applied to our bill. Can not understand why this traffic noise issue isn't disclosed before you stay. In looking at Trip advisor after I got home - I see there are comments about the traffic noise. Future travelers thinking about staying here - unless the loud traffic noise doesn't bother you, then might be ok. The front desk admits that they get complaints every day. I saw that they tried to add a glass insert on the windows to try and block the noise. Worthless. Not sure if the standard room facing opposite of the interstate have the...
Read moreI stayed at this property for about 3 months since I was based in the Phoenix area for a short term assignment at work. I initially stayed at a property across the street from the Residence Inn, but I wasn't wowed and then decided to give Marriott a try. Long story short...I booked there until the end of my work assignment.
They truly went out of their way to make it feel like home for me. The front desk was highly attentive and remembered all their guests, especially the regulars. Sophia was the one I interacted with the most and you could tell that she really took pride in what she did. Casey was always in good spirits and was awesome as well! The facilities (gym, pool, laundry) were in great condition and the lobby area was very welcoming.
My favorite part was obviously the room. I mostly stayed in 1 bedroom Suite and then in my last 2 weeks I was in a studio and the rooms were impeccable and everything worked, which is rare in some hotels these days. I appreciated the selection of food and drinks they had in the market (I bought red wine pretty frequently).
Overall, wonderful hotel in Avondale and probably some of the best service you will get in the...
Read more4 stars on location... as all other reviews have remarked, it is directly beneath I-10 & the traffic noise is evident all night long. I used a sleep sound app & was able to drown it out, mostly. Also, my room had a view of I-10, so I would recommend requesting a room on the other side of the property. About the property... very nice, very clean. Bed & pillows were comfy. Linens were nice quality. Spacious room, including a kitchenette with fridge/ freezer, 2 burner stove top, dishwasher, cookware, etc. This place would be ideal for anyone visiting Phoenix on an extended stay! Loved the spacious shower! Had a quick opportunity to enjoy the pool & lounge in the sun. Very nice. Wish there was a hot tub also. Neat little patio area with BBQ grills available and an outdoor fireplace. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, mini spinach quiche, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffle maker, bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee, juice, milk. Not much fruit selection, however all else appeared very tasty. Will definitely recommend to others & will plan to...
