Made the reservation in January, heard nothing from the resort coming up to the trip. I called 6 times prior to arriving never got an answer. Should have recognized this as a red flag. Arrived to what can only be described as a construction site, fine, no issues there hotels revamp all the time. But the lobby was covered in dust and construction workers kept walking by with wheelbarrows of debris. I would imagine the resort would send a “excuse our appearance while under construction” warning prior to arrival but again zero communication. There was a very, very long line to check in, again expected and no issue except people kept cutting and front desk staff said nothing. After 3 families jumping in ahead of us (who were at the front of the line for 40 minutes) my husband and I finally spoke up. It was extremely uncomfortable but the front desk staff were not going to give a simple “ma’am/sir please join the line”, so we felt we had to. The people we called out for skipping were hostile and argumentative, no doubt also p’d off with the resort and taking it out on us. We have stayed in plenty of hotels and give grace to outdated rooms but our room was disgusting and frankly falling apart. We almost left but we had driven 2 hours and were meeting friends so we stayed. See attached photos of the room. Door was hanging on for dear life, latch was broken, wallpaper was peeling off the wall everywhere, the rack for the shower wasn’t even screwed in and kept falling and sending towels into the toilet, the carpet was so nasty we were afraid to take our shoes off, there is no microwave, the shower had soap scum and splashes all over the wall from previous guests, there was water stains everywhere, the ceiling in the bathroom was even starting to come off and it smelled pretty rough too, musty and heavy. The water park is grimy. The kids got to play in the wave pool AND ONLY the wave pool because for the length of our stay the lazy river and slides were closed. We did enquire and every time we asked we were told something different why they were closed. I paid for a water park visit and got to stand in a wave pool on both days. It seemed like they were way beyond capacity. The bathroom/changing rooms in the water park would get the place shut down if a health inspector walked in. The waft of urine and poop is overwhelming, the toilets wouldn’t flush, the sinks were overflowing and the water was filthy coming from them. The floor was flooded and I don’t even want to know what we were stepping in. Out of respect to others I did not take pictures in these areas obviously. But needless to say we decided to get in our car, soaking wet and drive the two hours home to shower and change rather than use it. The restaurant (it’s a function room with tables) was ok. The vibe is extremely off but the food was ok. Don’t expect much and you won’t be disappointed. We did sit next too a woman and her children, the woman spent the entirety of her and our meal sobbing and whaling. Nothing the hotel could do about this but it tracks staying here….we felt like joining her. The staff were friendly but young and inexperienced. Every single staff member I saw interact with a guest was yielding a complaint. The staff looked exhausted and frankly didn’t know how to respond to guests. I can’t blame them. This clearly comes from the top down and if your hotel is this bad at least train your staff to be able to mitigate problems not just stand there and repeat “I understand” over and over. But again they all seemed young and just didn’t have the experience. I am blown away that it cost almost $500 for less than 24hrs of this complete nonsense. We did not have full access to either the entire water park or a comfortable room for the length of our stay. So I don’t know what exactly I paid for. Everyone we spoke to there had the same issues and so I highly doubt anyone will receive any compensations because they would go out of business if they were to offer everyone that had a problem a...

Margaritaville Cape Cod

This place does not care about your comfort and satisfaction. These are not small little projects going on here. They will do NOTHING to rectify the misleading information they have a on their website “pardon our sand”. They should have shut down until the location is safe. Guess upper management is too greedy and want your money. Parking: The resort fee covers parking, our dog injured her foot in the parking lot, so we had to carry our 40lb dog in and outside. If I’m paying additional fees to park, I’d rather it not be in a debris filled parking lot with broken tiles, paint, broken dressers/mirrors, screws, metal shards and smashed beer bottles. My town dump is cleaner.

The Room: Beautiful, teal beachy theme. It’s nice with its $30 million renovations, that they mention in every single negative review response.

Resort Amenities: Since you are charged an additional resort fee separate from the night rate upon check in you expect that to reflect in the amenities. Getting to the outdoor pool is a project since it’s a complete construction zone with absolutely NO signage directing you to the one door access. Theres dangerous fencing propped up to navigate through dirt very enticing for our little toddler, so we couldn’t enjoy the pool since it’s still an unsafe construction site. The “hot” tubs are a whopping 75 degrees. Same as the heated pool. No restaurant or bistro, no work out room or anything else available. Honestly, the resort fee should have been waived for anyone staying during this construction, it’s the least that could have been done with the false advertisement of a Resort.

Complimentary breakfast = muffins and coffee but you’ll have to navigate the maze of the construction zone again, with no detour signs at all I’ll save you the trouble: walk outside, around this “resort” parking lot. But watch for broken glass, nails, screws and metal.

I wasn’t willing to pay $150-$180 daily (depending on the day) for me and my husband to bring our toddler to the waterpark for the hour he’d last where there’s more construction to avoid and one thing for his age.

After paying over $475/night. We checked out early the front desk charged my credit card an additional $100 fee, I called for some clarity as to why and spoke with Angie at the reservation desk but when she couldn’t help she referred me to a lovely lady, Katrina who informed me of a room damage fee, we were only in the room to sleep, we checked in at the front desk and 4:30p dropped off our stuff, got dinner returned to sleep and were completely out by 9am the following day. Katrina was very understanding and did refund the $100. But when I looked at my card after the call my card was charged an additional $100 and then credited -$200. Seems very odd to refund that was, Very sketchy and strange.

Has the building inspector even looked at this place? Exposed rebar (a yogurt cup covered the top of one) unmarked ditches, exposed wiring. Paid extra for the Courtyard/the beach view? HA it’s a complete dirt yard, with caution tape, construction material. I wanted a family get away not a slider view of unusable construction site.

Overall I’m disgusted at this locations management and upper levels who think it’s ok to charge a premium rate for sub par accommodations. Especially at the lack of empathy that we are paying for a resort experience, not just a decent room if you keep on the curtains closed. It’s great there’s $30 million renovations, but as guests who are paying for that Resort experience and get nothing of the sort I don’t understand why they didn’t shut down for a few weeks until amenities were useable and the place was safe. Margaritaville Cape Cod really dropped the ball with customer service and meeting expectations. Just check out Google reviews...

Do not stay at the CapeCodder Resort and Spa. I had booked two nights during school vacation week. This place is unsafe and poorly managed:

You can pay extra for check in early. You get there early and you stand in a line with about 40 people. You get up to the front desk and then you are told that your room is not ready. This. happened to a family who was in front of me in line.

You don't pay to check in early (as I did not do), I wait in line with about 40 other people and I am told that my room is ready. In the meantime, my daughter and her two young children are bouncing off the walls in the car waiting for me to come out and tell them we can go to our room

We go to the room and find trash all over the dressers, and the beds had not been changed. In fact, my grandson found a cookie under the sheet. I called the front desk and they said that they would send housekeeping right up. We decide to go to the water park while they clean up the room. We come back two hours later and the room was still not cleaned up. I called the front desk again and they said they would send someone right up. By this time, my grandson was sick and needed to get into a bed..one that had not been changed, and he couldn't so he sat in the chair.

We turned on the heat in the room, to find that the rug was totally soaked, probably from the air conditioner. Another hour had past, no housekeeping. I called for a third time and told them about the water on the rug and said I wanted a new room. Their response was that there were no rooms available, and that they would send housekeeping up to dry out the rug. No one ever came to do the rug.

Housekeeping finally arrives. They change the sheets and empty the waste basket. They did not wipe down the dressers, the bed side table or vacuum the rug. It literally made me sick to be staying in this filth and so I wiped down everything myself.

Next morning we went back to the water park. We had a good time at the park. We were told that a third room was going to open up soon. A room that we had already paid for but did not have access to because apparently they did not have sufficient number of lifeguards. They let a family with a day pass get 50% discount because this room was not available.

The room became available. This room was the perfect size for my grandchildren. We were there for about 15 minites, when my daughter was coughing uncontrolably. She thought she was not able to breath. I saw her cough and then I saw many other people cough as well. I immediately got us out of the room. As we were leaving, someone pointed out some feces in the pool and told the guard.By this time, the guard had also opened the windows. I thought this was a totally inadequate response to the air quality situation and also to the pool with the feces in it. I know that everyone should get out of the pool until the feces can get removed and the pool is disinfected. The poor air qualitiy was probably a result of the chlorine in the water, but regardless, I think the room should have been closed until the air could be evaluated and the feces removed.

We decided the place was unsafe for us to be there any longer. I thought to myself that if there was a fire in this facility, I had no confidence that they could get us out safely I told the front desk about the entire situation, and they said that I would not be charged for the night but for the previous night I would be charged. I told them that I had called the local Board of Health and was very concerned about the lack of response to what I saw as an emergency situation. I also called the Department of Public Health to report them.

I am currently working on getting my charges removed for...
