So, the reason why I’m giving this store a one star is because my wife purchased a halloween costume for me at the plymouth location (on 10/25/25) so I could prepare for a halloween party later in the week since we were in the area, but then I tried it on later in the evening at home, and it didn’t fit. Since my family and I live on the Cape, we went to the local ItzAParty in Hyannis to make a return (the following day on 10/26/2025) of the oversized costume, and I was told that costumes can’t be returned after October 18th by Joanne, the manager there, and that’s understandable. I told Joanne, the manager there, that the costume didn’t fit me (which means it’s been worn and she was aware that it was worn), and she said that costumes can’t be returned after the 18th, which I understand, but what she said afterwards was that I could exchange it for another costume or something else equal to the price of the costume that I wanted to return. Sure, that sounds great because we have shopped here in the past for our daughter’s birthdays. Lo and behold, another (black) employee, whose name I don’t know, tells me that since the costume has been worn, that I can’t make the exchange, which made no sense to me since her manager, Joanne, just told me that I could make the exchange, even though that I told Joanne, the black employee’s manager, that it didn’t fit me. Joanne was aware that I tried on the costume, told her that it didn’t fit me, but went ahead and let me do the exchange. For what reason? To mislead me and waste my time?
The real part that really makes me upset with the employees at this ItzAParty Hyannis location is that my wife made the purchase in “Plymouth” and the black (female) employee said that it was “suspicious” of me. What is suspicious about this?
I told them that I wore it, that it didn’t fit, then get told by the manager (Joanne) that I could exchange if for something else, but then another (black female) employee tells me that it can’t be exchanged because it has been worn. If trying it on to see if it fits is considered “worn” then they need to change their policies. I didn’t get to wear this when my wife made the purchase until we got to the house. The staff here are absolute clowns and need to get policies and business decisions together, and most of all, listen to what customers tell you and convey the company policies thoroughly. If I had been told that even exchanges couldn’t be made in the first place by the manager, Joanne, I wouldn’t have wasted my time getting birthday supplies for my daughter; the black female employee there was absolutely rude and couldn’t own the mistake that they, as a team, made. It seems like other reviewers for this ItzAParty Hyannis location are also having issues with the rude and misleading employees here. Our money will be going elsewhere for birthday supplies and other festivities moving forward. Good job Hyannis ItzAParty staff. You lost a loyal...
Read moreWhat a great store. I was out of town and each year give a Valentines balloon to my other half. Could not get to the store for 4 days after VT day due to travel delays. A lovely gal suggested a VT balloon to me and I held one. I was planning on being there two days after VT day, but it ended up 4 days late. Upon arrival to the store, the folks there could not do enough for me. They located a sealed box from the back, opened it and my balloon was labeled for a hold for me. The gal opened it, inflated it in front of me, then decorated the hand held ribbon, with 4 or five seperate ribbons all coordinated to the balloon colors. She had excellent customer service skills, and had the artist eye as well. We now have our traditional VT balloon. I always will now return to this great store. The selection of balloons and party needs is mind blowing in so many choices. They have designer balloons in chrome and metallic balloons in the shape of ufo's. Read moreI went here yesterday (4/27/23) to get some Birthday supplies for a friends birthday party. I went in and the store wreaked of cigarette smoke it was very strong. Not only that I go in there in a great mood and came out frustrated and just angry. As I go to the counter to pay for my stuff and ask about balloons I am greeted by the rudest employee ever. Now I know people have bad days we all do but I worked in customer service for 10+ years and this was just not it, to the point I literally left everything I was going to buy and walked out the store. The store wasn’t even busy so for her to act like I was such a bother was beyond me, mind you I was being super nice because I believe we should be kind to everyone but when your treated like this and make it seem like the customer is such a bother then never mind I’d rather not give my money to people like that.
