La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis East — Hotel in Bartlett

Hotel is new so it's very clean and updated. The rooms are relatively large which is nice. But I wasn't expecting it to be so far away from Memphis attractions. It's very remote from the city with no restaurants to walk to. The breakfast was okay, pretty standard. The staff is not very engaging, did not welcome us in a friendly way. There were very few guests when we stayed so it was very quiet. They have a "marketplace" for snacks and small meals which wasn't very well stocked. No tourist information, maps. If you need to be about 15 miles east of downtown Memphis, and are looking for a clean place to stay, this hotel would suit you fine. But if you're in town to take in the downtown attractions, be aware you'll be driving about 25...

I really wanted to like this place. It appears to be almost brand new, but it is somewhat lacking in a number of areas. I booked a room with a king and a kitchen and the kitchen has absolutely no amenities. No paper towels, no plates, utensils nothing. Kind of a waste of a kitchen. There are no ice machines on any of the floors. The free breakfast was cold and the juice dispenser did not work. Also, I needed Wi-Fi and the Internet kept going in and out, so it was virtually useless. So I ended up tethering everything off of the hotspot on my phone to conduct my business. We stay at plenty of different hotels from 5 star to 2 star. This hotel is a Pretty new hotel and looks like a new hotel outside ,nice place. Breakfast is OK and can get you by but it's not the best thing you ever had, somewhere in the middle. Hotel was clean and smelled new, rooms smelled new. Nothing bad to say there. however outside it smells like raw sewage. Im guessing it's because we've had so much rain in the area or maybe theres a problem with the septic install but boy is it rough to smell first thing in the a.m. overall though id say for the money and the area it's good place to stay and I would recommend it and come again.
