Catamount Motel — Hotel in Bennington

We stayed one night while on a family ski trip at the nearby Prospect Mountain. My wife was skeptical due to the price (you pay for what you get) but we were both pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean, the beds have plenty of blankets (a good thing because it got down to 5°), the bathroom is dated but very clean (no dirty grout, no water stains, etc...), the heater worked great, and the microwave/minifridge were a nice touch too. The wifi is decent and the hotel is in a central location to downtown, which makes getting to the shops and restaurants easy. The walls are not very thick but our neighbors were quiet by 9pm which made falling asleep easy. The owner is a friendly guy and was happy to give us a late checkout. As other reviews have said, this place is spotless inside! The host is very nice and the location is perfect. Walk outside and you get a mountain view. You're right next door to a gas station that has great prices. You're a 5 minute walk from downtown bennington and you're right on rt 7. The rooms are well lit, they've got powerful ACs, and the blankets keep you nice and warm at night. The rooms (or at least the one I had) even come with a little sofa and a table for two which is more than I've had at any other motel! The wifi is stronger than most motel wifis. I plan to stay here any time I come up this way. Stayed here one night while section hiking the AT. Highly recommend!! The Catamount is a very nice, clean and affordable place to stay in Bennington. All of the staff I interacted with (Pete, Alan, Steve) were very helpful and hiker-friendly. They picked us up and dropped us off at the Rt. 9 trailhead and even invited us to join them for dinner!
