What a horrific experience. I should have known it was going to be a disaster when the staff was having trouble seating people in a half filled dining room. Once we were finally seated, our waitress took 10 minutes to come over and take our order. She was clearly struggling with the iPad she was using to input orders. I ordered an iced coffee, which 10 minutes after ordering, the waitress came back to tell me was frozen due to a “refrigerator problem.” She offered to have the dishwasher guy run the spout under hot water (Disgusting!) or bring me another beverage. I opted for the latter.
After another 5 minutes, the waitress brought me a hot coffee which was extremely bitter. We then waited approximately 40 minutes before she would show her face again. Not to bring our food, but to bring me the iced coffee which I guess the dishwasher guy successfully thawed out! We were considering walking out as tables that arrived 20-plus minutes after us were getting their food. However, the waitress assured us that our food would be right out.
After another 15 minutes of us teetering back and forth on whether to leave, our waitress finally appeared. She arrived at the table with two plates of pancakes (It should have been ONE order of pancakes, French toast, and a side of scrambled eggs). Upon pointing out that she only got one out of three items correct, she tried telling us that it couldn’t be since that’s what she had on her iPad for table 21. She didn’t apologize, but said she was “going to figure out what’s going on.” We were shocked to the point that the only thing to do was laugh. I walked back to find our waitress now giggling with another coworker behind the counter. I handed her $3 for the coffee and let her know that the only part of the order she got right would be sitting uneaten on our now unoccupied table.
This was undoubtedly the worst breakfast experience of my life. I wish I was able review the food, but the staff made this impossible. Hopefully things change with the way this place is run; otherwise, customers will continue to feel like the...
Read moreI came here on Sunday with my long time best bud Drew Johnson. We met back in 2008 at Mt. Anthony Union High School, where we eventually made a name for ourselves with the notorious 2011 Kate's Krazies (named after Kate's gymnasium) - him leading the student section and me on the basketball court. Oh yes, Drew & I got into lots of mischief back in those days like our unsanctioned pizza party in the senior parking lot. But anyways, Drew just got off working on the new Netflix special Black Rabbit where he's like a butler or something for Jude Law & Jason Bateman. If you want to see him deliver them food, tune into Netflix in like idk a year from now? As you can imagine, this worked him up a pretty big appetite, and we decided to check out this spot. The live music was nice for a brunch spot, mellow and not too loud but quite soothing and gave the atmosphere a push into the 5-star range. He ordered the Nor'Easter Omelet with a side of sweet potato hash, and I got an Egg-white California Omelet with a cup of coffee. My side of home fries were delightful as they came with diced vegetables and were seasoned, but his were rather plain. Coffee was par for the course. Overall a pretty great meal, and we delighted catching up over old tales and new adventures we've had since the last time we saw each other. After the meal we were feeling rambunctious and walked over to the gamer's grotto where I spent all his quarters failing to get any stuffed animals from their crane game machine - but that's a tale for another time. Couldn't recommend this spot more, definitely worth checking out while...
Read moreThe Angry Egg is a cozy eatery with a casual vibe and a menu that will satisfy your cravings for comfort food. During my recent visit, Gail, our waitress, provided exceptional service with a warm and friendly demeanor, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.
The food at The Angry Egg was a true delight. We started off with the fried chicken burger, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The chicken was cooked to perfection and was topped with a delicious blend of toppings that added a burst of flavor with each bite. The accompanying tomato soup was rich and velvety, with just the right amount of tanginess from the tomatoes, making it a perfect comfort food option.
Next, we tried the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla, and it did not disappoint. The quesadilla was generously filled with tender chicken, crispy bacon, and gooey cheese, all perfectly melded together. The ranch dressing added a tangy creaminess that complemented the other flavors perfectly. It was a hearty and satisfying dish that left us wanting more.
Overall, our experience at The Angry Egg was fantastic, thanks to the attentive service from Gail and the delicious food. The cozy atmosphere and comforting flavors of the fried chicken burger, tomato soup, and chicken bacon ranch quesadilla made it a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal in a relaxed setting.
