Golden Bear Cottages — Hotel in Big Bear Lake

My experience wasn't the greatest not for the price the shower head put up little water the plug would hold my charger for my phone we only had like To buy toilet paper because we couldn't get none because they were closed in they stood the coming leave next role because people started are because the cove it dany how much toilet paper was in there when before we win in the new we're going on Friday my experience wasn't good at all they had too many issues there the shower handles were too hard to turn in they were coming off the wall the flashings where the handles were there jist I don't understand people there's nothing wrong with spending money But it wasn't good experience for the 1st time I talked to a man he told me in the office that everybody likes that place it would be nice Is many issues I found it wasn't just one it was like 45 in demand really wasn't that concerned about it he says because everybody like this place the problem is sometimes people never say nothing to the people in the office which wrong inside the unit I do maintenance work and I told him why do I need to do your man's job in he basically I told them why don't they do inspections and check everything out now you see do have a man in there after we leave on Monday doing all the repairs To me I was overcharged and I really not happy for my 1st time experience there maybe some of their other place Maybe some of their other cabins are better but the one we got wasn't these days and times I don't understand you pay good money for things in you expect things to be right if you go to a place and read a place you don't need to have someone bother you are going to fix something that they should be checking every time someone checks out the problem with me is this debt I go and I don't want to be bothered because that's the reason why get away not to put up with nothing The have to go to place in pay a couple $100 a night that place should be tip top it shouldn't be I have to go tell a man what is maintenance man's not doing or tell them what's wrong with their place Is like buying food are going to restaurant final like something why should I pay for 5 paying top dollar the problem is they can give you a free night if you get too but it still doesn't fix the issue of the inconvenience of things that are not right in being inconvenience trying to take a shower in the water to come out of the shower head all I ask is how would anybody else like that in the only have certain hours did the operate in it's hard to get ahold of anybody because we call the 2nd time we were there Even went to the office but there was a different On the door we call one to numbers but nobody answered we called another number to Mansour Denise's he didn't live up there The problem is this dead everybody passes the buck the problem is other people might like it maybe they stayed in a nice cabin bookmark our experience for the 1st time wasn't that great I'm not saying it's not a nice place I'm just saying that wasn't right to be inconvenience they have lights going out because their shorting out of the light snow good so there's a lot of things just wrong I wrote down 5 things that was wrong there That's all I got to say anyway I guess so fix it after we leave but it doesn't fix the issue with me my 1st time...

This was our family Christmas vacation celebrating my baby sisters birthday so all family got together and rented this cabin for over 15 people. It was not equipped to handle 5 people to say the least. For there largest cabin to have only 2 bathrooms with that many people was ridiculous and it started out bad when we checked in the cabin had only 5 bath towels and 3 wash cloths, maybe other guest have brought their own linen but we all flew in from various states and was relying on this establishment to be what they advertised on their website. We we wrong totally this cabin #25 was so outdated and uncomfortable and it was such a bad experience for us we will never return and will advise all our friends and family to go elsewhere. The furniture was dirty and uncomfortable the beds were almost unbearable not to mention we found the previous occupants socks still in one of our beds and hair in another of the beds which was the most gross experience ever we reported to management and lady came to change all sheets of dirty beds the next day she also was not taking responsibility for not changing sheets when ever guest check out saying she “don’t think she was the one that cleaned the cabin “ really...the kitchen was ill equipped with a refrigerator that had all shelves broken on the door and was not at all good for a large family to have food storage, every time we cooked on the gas stove the cabin would get smoked in so we had to open the windows and the kitchen door to clear the smoke ... which by the way would have us letting in the cold air from outside.. The fireplace was not bad but it needed to be cleaned as well. There was not any heat in the bathrooms or enough lights so you could even see to brush your teeth or comb your hair ( no lights over any of the sinks)... the showers were so weak it took you longer to shower because you had no pressure in the water flow. The supposed maid service consisted of ladies coming by in the afternoon with some mixed matched towels that were never enough for our needs, and then were rude when we complain about the need for more. As an overall rating I would rate this Golden Bear Cottages a -1 and if I was grading them they definitely would get a (F ... failing ) and never recommend them to anyone. I think the Better Business will be my next place to review them so other people won’t be duped by this company. We have a travel club that would have spent lots of money here but we will definitely advise them on NOT coming to this establishment. When I booked this cabin, I was told to go on their site so I could see the cabins. I found the one he told me was available, in fact he said that was the only one available. When I looked at it I liked it inside and out so I went ahead and booked it and paid. We drove from 3 hours away so we didn't want to just turn around and go home. When we got there the lady checking me in said oh by the way he moved you to #18. I asked what it was like and she told me then she said I think he moved you because the people in 18 (the one he moved us to) had a dog. Ok we had two cats which he knew because I paid for them to be there so not sure why it mattered. Then my husband came in and he got a couple of different excuses why he moved us. When we got to our new cabin I figured out why we got switched. The cabin was right next to the office and the place where the room maids kept there wagons etc for cleaning the rooms, the gate wasn't kept closed so we kept seeing all of that. Next, the people in the cabin directly across from us had several people and they we loud, ALL night long. We had to keep the windows open because of no air conditioning and these people were outside talking, laughing smoking. I couldn't sleep and I couldnt breath I was so stuffed up from the smoke coming in our cabin. At 3:00 am I finally had to close the window. When I received my bill it came out to be almost $100.00 more than what I was expecting. The guy I reserved with told me he was only going to charge me for 1 cat, there were two charges, there was a Resort Fee plus a bunch of taxes. The carpet in our cabin was a dark green but the had used so much bleach cleaning supplies (I'm guess to get out pet odors) the carpet was bleached to a light pinky color. The cabin I approved and paid for was bigger and off by itself it had an actual patio on the front and a gas fireplace, that we were actually excited about. The bed in the new cabin was slide tightly between two walls so we had to literally climb into bed from the foot of the bed. I'm handicapped. Ask me how fun that was every time I had to get up to go to the bathroom during the night. I was VERY disappointed that we were switched without even asking up. I'm sure that the people who had that cabin originally got there before us and saw and heard all the people across from them and wanted to be moved. So just be sure to check out all the fees you will be charged and make sure you get the cabin you want if your picky cause I guess they take the liberty of changing you on a whim! We won't be recommending this place or EVER...
