Stayed last nite at site 49. To be fair the lady who answered phone was very nice and we were glad we found a place last minute even though we paid dearly for our lack of planning ($125.00 for 1 nite). Place was quite all nite. It had snowed a few nights before we arrived but the sewer and water connections were covered by snow, not a clean looking site. We couldnt find the connections so we got a frying pan from our kitchend and did some digging. Space was very tight and was extremely hard to park. A bit after midnite the electric connection stopped working. Poor frozen hubby went out a few times to connect & reconnect but nothing. Im glad i had packed several sleeping bags and heavy blankets because i had 3 kids on board and better to be prepared. The inside temperature reached a point that would make u shake. I left a message this morning but never heard from anyone. I understand is New Year day but someone should be responsible since my $125.00 were accepted even though we almost froze. Left @8:30 to a friends nearby to try to warm up. If i had been told the electric connections didnt work i would have never booked as I dont inted to die as a popsicle. Hopefully someone calls with some kind of refund as it is only fair. Cant...
Read moreMy family of 8 rented a premium house on the lake close to Holloway’s Marina this summer. What I wanted to do was to let the kids and parents experience all that Holloway’s has to offer including morning water skiing, afternoon jet ski’s, evening pontoon boat rides and SUP paddle boards. The challenge was it was very busy time of the year and Holloway’s was jamming with business. I met the owner, a true gentleman named Lauren who just truly blew our minds with his service level. This is no small operation they have the largest selection of vessels that span two different Marina’s. Lauren said “what can I do to ensure you and your kids have a great time?” Every morning he had us picked up and we went waterskiing and tubing with a quality instructor that got my kids waterskiing for the first time. He also shuttled us to the other marina via boat to ride jet ski’s. He let us use SUP boards at the house. He made our trip plane and simple. His staff is super organized and efficient. Don’t look anywhere else in Big Bear for rentals. This is a large family business that has perfected what they do...
Read moreI thought $65 a night for Labor Day weekend was a great price. The office lady said they were renovating, not totally sure what though. This is a pretty basic Rv park, there are a few permanent residents, but they’re more toward the front. There are no tables by the Rv spots so bring your own. Also there is only 1 BBQ grill up at the front by the office. It doesn’t look like it gets much use, so if you want something near your camp site bring your own. There’s 2 small showers in each of the restrooms. Watch out in the women’s bathroom for the hot water in the showers, my wife & daughter almost got burned. We were in spot 49, we asked for a 30amp & it had both 20 & 30amp hook up.||There’s a summer camp right behind this Rv park. It was a little loud w/kids in the early evening, but by 8:30pm it was pretty quiet there.||The 1 big negative I have is that there wasn’t much parking. Once we unhooked our trailer from our truck we didn’t really have anywhere to...
