While we enjoyed the overall experience on the pirate ship, I do have to say that we were disappointed that there was not a costumed pirate on board, as advertised. Our guide and ship’s captain was a woman, dressed for the occasion, however, we had seen the pirate ship passed by on numerous occasions, and it had men dressed in full pirate regalia. I don’t want to appear sexist, as I am a woman, but somehow it didn’t have the same effect as it would have had there been a man dressed in full pirate gear. I had to feel sorry for the numerous children who were on the ship, as I’m sure they did not recognize our captain as a pirate. The other crew member was simply dressed in a T-shirt that said “crew” on the back. We are well up in age, however, it did detract from our overall experience. While our guide was nice enough, there seemed to be something lacking in the atmosphere that we had expected on a...
Read moreThe ship cruise was ok. The staff at the marina is horrible. One little “ See you next Tuesday” staff said “ hope your day gets better” after making excuses they’re understaffed after the busy season. Yet there were a dozen employees inside goofing around talking to each other and ignoring my family upon arrival. They didn’t know how to run a credit card for drinks on the ship and cost their guide a tip! Idiots!!! We also left ten minutes late while waiting for a party of three that was late and waiting for an employee to put sunblock on after someone walked back to the building to get it for her. She had no personality on the tour. We also returned five minutes early. We didn’t get 90 minutes we were told we would. They offer mixed drinks on board but fail to tell you it’s in a can! $12 for a can. This generation of idiots can’t help themselves out of...
Read moreThe dock, store, and whole area in general was dirty. It wasn’t smelly til the porta potty and the trash cans hit, it was hard to smell because there’s smoke from the wildfire. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful except for one young woman who was nice to the kiddos around us. Some of the young men running around who worked there were loud, wild, and obscene. They both filled up buckets with murky lake water and threatened to throw it at each other despite the fact that we were standing in the ‘splash zone’. The captain was running late and the pirate ship seemed overcrowded and run down so we left, counting this as a loss because it wasn’t worth waiting for the rude employee who seemed in charge to help us potentially get...
