My wife and I have stayed at the Red Carpet Inn many times over the past 10 years while our daughters attended Virginia Tech. The modest property is safe and clean with a great and convenient location to campus and everything in Blacksburg. But the best feature is the outstanding service approach shown by the local owner, Harry, and his wife, Bina. His son is also a student at VT. They live on site and Harry always takes the time to ask how we are doing and to get updates on our family. I feel as if I've built a special friendship with him over the years. If there's anything he can do to make our stay more pleasurable, Harry does not hesitate to go the extra mile. In fact, one time we needed a ladder for a repair at our daughter's off-campus home and he readily let us borrow his (he even offered to come over to help!). In this day and age, it is difficult to find someone who really cares about guests the way Harry does. We recently had two rooms at Red Carpet for my daughter's graduation (and we paid far less than we would have at other hotels around town), and it was another great visit. We have been at Red Carpet on football weekends and for our many other fun trips to Blacksburg. If you are looking for a clean and safe property and want to support the local community, there is no better place to stay than the...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at the Red Carpet Inn in Blacksburg, hosted by Harry, and it was an exceptional experience. When our original reservation elsewhere fell through due to overbooking just four days before our trip to Virginia Tech's game against Pitt, Harry and his family stepped in to save the day. From the moment we arrived, Harry's warm and welcoming hospitality made us feel like part of his extended family.
Not only did Harry ensure our comfortable stay, but he also extended his kindness and care to my entire family and friend group who were in town for the game. It's rare to find someone so genuinely dedicated to making guests feel at home.
The Red Carpet Inn itself was a cozy and inviting place to stay. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of cheering on our team. But what truly sets this inn apart is the personal touch Harry adds to the experience, turning it from a regular hotel to a hidden gem.
If you're visiting Blacksburg and want more than just a place to stay, I wholeheartedly recommend the Red Carpet Inn. It's not just a place to rest; it's a place to feel welcomed and cared for. Thank you, Harry, for making our trip unforgettable. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else...
Read moreThis is not the Hilton/Marriott/Comfort Inn, etc. If you want to stay at the Hilton, book it in advance.
The price was VERY reasonable. Almost half the the cost of the other hotels in the area And you can get a room on short notice.
The rooms were old, but clean.
It had all the normal amenities. Ie., soap, Shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc. No coffee in the room, but the clerk told me they start making a pot at 5:30 AM at the check in area. There was a small microwave and refrigerator in the room and a nice TV. The AC worked well. However, it is the individual under window type unit. So don’t expect to see a wall thermostat. The thermostat is on the unit.
The queen size bed and pillow were comfortable. There also was a sofa in the room. A desk and 3 chairs. One night stand. Plenty of power supplies and WiFi.
One of the few drawbacks is the highway next to the hotel. Bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper. I’ve get that noise at the more expensive hotels near the airports and interstates as well.
The outdoor pool was closed, due to Covid-19, so I can’t speak to that.
It was close enough to the restaurants that we walked to have dinner. The is movie theater across the...
