I often need to stay in some hotel and I don't remember staying in such a dirty room. My husband was doing a training in another state and this time I had to stay in Columbia alone with my baby. I usually choose another hotel but I thought this time I could do the experience and stay at this hotel because I was very close to where I was going to have a meeting the other day. I arrived at the hotel around 6pm with my 1 year-old baby. I went into the room and apparently it was just a bad smell, organized my suitcase and my son was playing on the carpet. Suddenly my eye started scratching a lot and getting very red. I have light allergy of animal fur and dust. My son's clothes were very hairy and then I saw something was wrong with the cleaning of my room. I went down to pick-up my order at the restaurant next to the hotel, when I returned around 7:15pm I asked the receptionist about them accepting animals in the room and he said it was allowed in all the rooms. I told him my room was very hairy and that I'm allergic. He told me that all the rooms are allowed animals and that he couldn't do anything. I returned to my room and went to prepare for the bath. The bathroom floor was very dirty, very furry and there was also dust all over the room. I called the staff and I said I needed to go to another room because it was evident that the housekeeping staff had not properly cleaned before my arrival. The staff was unfriendly/unprofessional, he said he couldn't do anything for me and he didn't try to fix my problem, he didn't even apologize. I asked them to send new sheets because it would be impossible to sleep there with everything so dirty. He told me to get the sheets and said he couldn’t bring the sheets in the room for me. I didn't understand why he was so rude to me. I was with my baby and I just wanted to sleep in a clean room. I spoke to my husband and he said he'd try to call the staff and ask him to move us to another room but the receptionist was very unfriendly with my husband too and then my husband told me to leave the hotel at that time and stay at the other hotel that I usually stay in. I organized everything to go away and then when I was getting into my car the receptionist went after me and asked if I was leaving. I arrived at the other hotel at 8:30pm with a crying baby because it was past bedtime. It was a frustrating experience that I wouldn't want someone else to go...
Read moreCar trouble is never fun, but having it after a weekend away while driving home is the worst. So when I (quite by accident) found this newly opened gem while searching for Hilton properties near me where I could use points for a free stay, i was curious as to why I'd not seen this hotel (just 1/10 of a mile from where I'd parked it in the middle of an I-77N construction zone. I risked it & started the car, took the exit & made it to the safety of this oasis of peace in the midst of chaos. The hotel itself looked nothing like the Hampton Inns I usually visit, bigger $ bolder, but at ask timid or reserved. but I kept an open mind as I pulled into the familiarity of a l Diamond Member spot. The parking lot had few cars777 & I wasn't sure they'd actually opened until I got to the door & saw the clerk in his crisp uniform smiling up at me. Then I smelled the unmistakable aroma of the coffee they offer that I love so much, & knew I was "home." Sure, the lobby was unfamiliar…More modern, open, spacious- less old -school Hampton…or so I will initially thought. Turns out, the changes made to the property and the design actually make it feel more like a Hampton. Friendly, spacious, understated, homey. The local sign greeting me from Behind the desk I was a little genius addition to the design. The way that all of the outlets in the lobby by the little hidden seats that were placed here in there for waiting while you’re checking in or just hanging out all had USB ports in addition to the regular three prong outlets- a touch which all travelers should love. The slight angle of the different two different wings from the lobby give privacy and a sense of coziness to what would otherwise be a large and imposing lobby. And then there’s the staff… You can count on the folks at Hampton to be friendly, knowledgeable, & it's been my experience that most have a tendency to go way above and beyond their expecto
I didn’t actually need to stay afrer al£label_Num5655, I'd been trying to see if AAA would tow my car 120 miles back home and take me along this whole time. So when I realized they would & I could save my points I felt a time of disappointment that I wouldn't be staying over. But as I went in to thank the gentleman for his kindness while i sat in my cargo out front for 3 hrs, drinking his coffee, I realized that because of him, I’ll definitely be back to stay...sometime soon, I...
Read moreThe location was great. Grocery and fast food all around. Close to the person we visited and the activities we were involved in. But that’s it. After traveling all day and needing a shower before a dinner event, I found myself in a shower with little shampoo left and no conditioner at all. I would think those would be refilled for each new guest. Guess not! Luckily I noticed before I washed my hair as it would have been a disaster if I had not been able to condition it. I stopped at the desk and asked for my room to be replenished and for more pillows. The lady was super nice and said it would be taken care of. I came back to find nothing had been done. I was given some conditioner by a family member I visited “just in case”. So I was ok the next morning except I didn’t sleep well because the bed was as hard as a rock. But then I went down for breakfast and found most things were empty and what wasn’t looked very unappealing. I had some of the poor tasting coffee and juice that tasted like it had artificial sweetener in it. Dumped both of those and hit McDonalds instead. I mentioned to the same nice lady at the desk that I did not get anything I asked for and that my family was joining me that day so I really needed shampoo, conditioner and more pillows. She said she would personally take care of it. And she did! So she did great when the cleaning staff failed twice. They failed a third time when they didn’t clean our room on the “every other day” schedule we were told they provided . So I had to ask for clean towels. I found the room layout and furniture to be very functional. The hooks on the wall were great for the girls to put their purses and sweaters on. We enjoyed the pool until people started smoking out there and brought their dogs in the pool. Then there was poop in the pool. Not sure if it was the dogs or the bunch of wild children in there. Breakfast didn’t improve so that was...
