If I could give them no stars I would. I go by here all the time and spend my hard earned money. I order two different meals and they placed them in two different bags. The meals were going to two different people and two different places. I had onion rings with my burger and the other person French fries. They placed my burger in the bag with French fries. My burger was ordered with onion rings and was supposed to be placed in that bag. Because of them being in two separate bags because they were going to two different places. And the fact my burger was ordered with onion rings. I didn’t check that they placed my burger in the wrong bag. I assumed that the bag with the fries was the other persons meal. And the onion rings bag was my meal and had my burger in it. And I’m not wrong for that, because that’s what any other fast food restaurant does when you order a meal. They put what you order the burger and fries or onion rings in the same bag all together. Well apparently not What a Burger. So after realizing that they didn’t do this and I wouldn’t be able to eat my burger. I called the restaurant because I was angry for the mess up and wanted some correction as a customer. Not only that my soda didn’t taste like a soda. It tasted like sparkling water with no flavor. So I called and the manager refused to get on the phone with me. They had a kid tell me they wouldn’t get on the phone. And they had that teenager tell me that when they make the food they just put it in the bags without checking which bags they go into. As long as the sandwich was made properly they will not do anything to make me happy about their mistake but they could refund me for my messed up soda. What? Then what is the point of putting the burgers in a bag by themselves if you are not putting them with the right order? That makes no sense! I have never heard of such nonsense in my life! No fast food restaurant does that! Needless to say I wasted my money. I did not get to eat and enjoy my meal because I could not drink the soda that I ordered or eat the burger that I had ordered. I will never eat at What a Burger again. They have lost a good customer and my money for life! I also work for Door Dash on the side and have delivered for them. I will no longer deliver for them either. If they come up I will reject them and let another Dasher deliver their orders. And I will not refer them to any of my family or friends anymore in Columbia area or Irmo, SC area. Because this is not how you treat your customers. Bad business these people! I rather stick with the other fast foods restaurants that have been around like Wendy’s, Mac Donald’s, Chic-fa- la, Smash Burger and Five Guys at least these places would not have treated me this way. They would have acknowledged what had happened and their mistake. And the fact I didn’t even get to enjoy a meal or drink that I paid for because of them. And the manager would have spoken to me and not hidden behind a teenage employee to do their dirty work. Y’all remember Karma is real… these other restaurants have stayed open for decades because they don’t treat customers like y’all do…. Remember y’all just opened here, y’all still got a long way to go. Straighten...
Read moreRecently my daughter fell at this place, bc the associate was wet mopping the floor with no signs. Hurt and crying I asked to speak to the manager in regards to why associates are mopping the floor with customers coming in and out the door and getting food. That this is something that should be done with less customers and slow traffic. It wasn’t till then another associate put up wet signs, and the manager suggested the girls to dry mop the floor. The girl apologized and said that they required them to mop the floor all throughout the day, and I explained if someone Older was to come in here and slip and fall they would have a serious law suit on their hands.
This is probably my second or third time coming to this Whataburger and I will just have to also include that the wait time to get Food is ridiculous. Another issue I had was that I was still waiting on my food Manager claim she didn’t see my order that they had already served number 76 but I also had a number 76 and my food was still waiting in the back this whole entire time.
When this place first opened up, To be busy and have one girl on the register and there was one girl standing between two kiosk after already waiting 20 minutes in line a manager comes out and asked the associate standing between the kiosk , Does she need any more numbers? She replies oh yes,and I turned back to her and I say are these kiosk for ordering? She said sorry yes. It wasn’t till then people coming in the door that she would start to explain that they could order from the kiosk . So you have people there working in positions that don’t know what their position is for and what they’re supposed to say Or do. You have all these associates in the back but yet one person on the register is crazy and one or two people bringing food out and can’t find the person because you have all these people standing there and confusion waiting on their food as well. To me, To have that many people working, you should be well organized, and the staff does not appear to be organized Or more so confused themselves on what they should doing. Very disappointed this is my first time ever experiencing a Whataburger and will probably be my last giving my experience. My daughter falling...
Read moreEditing: we refuse to go for dinner because someone always wrong. Food last time was 35 minutes and basically cold when it came. Lots of attitude from employees complaining about having to make tea or clean tables…some need a lesson in cleaning tables. Food service isn’t easy, but it certainly isn’t difficult to figure out either. Still lots to work out here so we’re taking a break even though we love Whataburger from my husband growing up in Florida.
Starting off with my only complaint: the dining room floor felt like the kitchen floor and was a bit slick. Not a huge deal, but could be a safety issue at some point.
At any rate, I LOVE Whataburger. I first had Whataburger in Pensacola in 2019 - my husband is a born and raised chicken tender with gravy and fries guy, and based on this visit, he said he’d convert to the Whataburger how I ordered it.
The bacon and cheese Whataburger with mayo on Texas toast was amazing. Hot and nice fresh toppings. I had never had the jalapeño ranch and honestly, I can deal with no mayo if I have this ranch to dip the burger in.
I went to the irmo location a few weeks back and got the wrong flavor of whatawings, so I also got the honey bbq wings to split with my son and give them a try. Those with the jalapeño ranch were also amazing and my husband is a convert to the j ranch too from fancy ketchup or gravy.
That said, top it all off with an apple pie (McDonald’s better watch out because these are so much better and I don’t even like apple pie), and we had us a great visit. The apple pies weren’t available to order on the kiosk in the lobby though so I made a separate order at the counter because my husband loves them.
All in all there was room for improvement, but this is our second visit to this location and hoping that once the buzz dies down that they can remain consistent. And the whatawings...
