While the hotel and room was clean, we had a major issue when I extended our stay. I called a couple of days before my reservation was to expire and asked to extend my stay another week. The employee was happy to help and assured me she would do what she could to keep my reservation for the same room. She let me know that if we did have to change rooms, we would be notified ahead of time as my some was staying at the hotel for a new in Boardman and he had to be at the job site early Monday morning. Monday at 11:30am, I received a call from Shiela telling me we were late for check out and our belongings needed to be removed immediately. I notified her that my son was on a job site and could not just leave. She then told me that they were not allowed to move his items, that she only had staff available until 3pm to get the room cleaned and ready for the person, she could not change the room for the incoming person, and after hanging up on me, then threatened to cancel our reservation and “make other arrangements” for my son’s belongings in they weren’t out immediately. My son needed up spending his 30 minute lunch break (he workers 6 days a week and 10 hours a day in the heat) to drive back to the hotel, pack up all his belongings and move them to another room. No one apologized to me or my son for their obvious error or offered to compensate us in any way. When I asked for the manger, Shiela told me she was the manager, that this was her business but would not give a last name. Read moreThe room was clean and modern with a comfortable mattress. The issue here is overcharging. We booked thru a booking site and instead of being charged the agreed upon fee we. We were charged the pet fee and an additional fee of over $53.50 for no explainable reason. We disputed the overcharge and we're then charged an additional charge of the agreed room rate and the felonious fee.... This place is shady as hell with charges and the staff will belittle you when you question the overcharge. Stay somewhere else. The sound deadening on the freeway side is not sufficient to curb the freeway noise. Update 7/5 - We talked with management already and are now disputing the charges with the bank. Update 7/7 - The bank reversed the additional charges because the hotel staff was wrong. They are contracted with the third party booking site. If they don’t want to accept the negotiated fee that the third party gave us then they should not be contracted with those third party booking sites. Read moreI made a reservation for Tuesday the 24th for a conference at this hotel. When I showed up they told me that my reservation was for the night of the 23rd, and that now they were full and there was no room for me. I told the guy that was at the front desk that I had received a confirmation call on Friday for the 24th. He basically told me that their was nothing he could do after speaking with the owner.
I then went back to my conference and was telling the conference host about my dilemma, and a guy came over and asked me if my last name was hold, and then went onto tell me that he had been bumped the night before at the same hotel, and then he went this morning to see if he could get a room for tonight. He said the lady looked at the list and then said this Holmes guy cancelled and he could take his room.
