The stay would have been pleasant if the employees handling money knew what they were doing. Had a stay booked through a 3rd party for 2 nights. Upon arrival it was decided that a 3rd night was needed. They were unable to add a 3rd night to the reservation because it was booked through a 3rd party. No problem, I gave them my card to charge for the extra night. Instead, for reasons unknown, the woman charged my card for 3 nights. On top of that, she was unable to perform refunds so I had to wait for her to contact her manager. Once we got that sorted, the manager told me to come into the office at the end of my original reservation to extend my stay and pay for the additional night. The morning of the end of my original reservation I went into the office to pay for the other night. The woman ran my card, the machine said approved, and she told me that it didn't go through so she had to run it again. I informed her that the machine said "approved" both times and she assured me it didn't charge me twice. I finished my stay and got back on the road. When I checked my account, lo and behold, I had 2 charges pending in my account. I called and spoke to the manager where she informed me that they take payments through a 3rd party who will double charge you to make sure that you have money in your account, but the second charge will drop off. It did not. I've called several times and the manager tells me the same thing every time, on their end there is only one charge so there's nothing they can do. After a few calls, she said she would have the owner call. That never happened. So I'm left with a double charge on my account. These employees clearly need more training before they are allowed to handle other people's money. The customer service has been a nightmare and the owner has shown a complete lack of care. What a stressful situation. Would not trust these...
Read moreWhy anyone would build such a huge motel out here is a mystery. Boardman is a small place but there's picturesque countryside and the Columbia widens out into a large scenic lake here so, perhaps, someone thought there might be a lot of recreational visitors. Anyway, you get a fairly typical smallish room with half-bath, sink and make-up nook, microwave, unusually large fridge (how nice for once) and a TV. Most units are said to have a flat screen TV but ours was the legacy CRT. It worked perfectly. Housekeeping proved to be at a high standard (they brag their housekeepers are "Certified") and the place smelled fresh. Furniture and carpeting appeared fairly new and were very clean. Everything worked. They inform you the TV remote is the type you can easily clean because it has flat, sealed buttons - a welcome touch as these things are normally bacteria incubators. Someone cares about this place and it shows. All units are on ground level and you can park outside your door so loading/unloading is a snap. Responsive Wi-Fi.
Reception is in the included 24/7 convenience store. "Joe" proved very hospitable and helpful. There's no view unless you enjoy parking lots and service stations but it's only a few minutes walk down to the river. The bathroom fan rattled and squeaked in protest upon startup but once at speed it was OK. Although close to the freeway noise was mostly unnoticeable and we had a good night's sleep. A quiet, comfortable, clean, convenient and bargain priced place to crash for the night or maybe even longer if you'd like to explore Boardman and area.
I give 5 stars for this type of place. It's not the Ritz Carleton so don't judge it on that basis. As a roadside stop,...
Read moreThis hotel was ok I guess. A few things come to mind when showing up. First the continental breakfast was ordinary same thing everyday. The service was terrible. I had to chase someone down to exchange towels daily. The man there told me to wear a shirt when I was outside of my room. In 95 degree heat. I was dressed appropriately but was in the process of checking out. So had no shirt on. In this hick town with nothing to do except work. Didn't know there was a dress code. I think he was jealous because there was females outside as well. Whatever no biggy The pool was closed and unkempt. The only thing good about this place was the jacuzzi that was inside your room right next to the bed of all things. If you plan o. Staying there bring a blanket because all the give you on thier beds are 2 sheets and what appears to be gramas blanket. Is it worth the money? No. I wont stay there again. No matter what the circumstance. Oh and the room floors was stained up and dirty. The and the ac didnt work in our room. Hence the no shirt policy was null and void In my book. Especially when its hot as it was. The lady's at the counter though was exceptional with helping out. Ill give her 4 out of 5 starts. The guy however should quit making up rules as he seems fit and was always smoking a cigarette within 10 ft of the door...
