My family and I were driving through during dinner time and thought we would stop and eat. It's the only place off I84 right at the Boardman exit. Worst decision ever. We ordered our food to go and were told our number would be called. I stood there patiently waiting, watching brown bags of food sit under the heat lamp. It wasn't until people after us who had ordered were getting their food, that I was a little concerned and was starting to get upset. I have a 17 month old and two teenage boys who were hungry. The manager then picked up a bag that I watched sit under the heat lamp and called our number that I had enough. When she handed me our bag of food I told her, the situation (we hadn't even received our drink order) instead of apologizing and trying to make it better - her response was "I don't know who left it there" I took the bag of food and sat down to eat. My teenage boys coughed their dry hamburger down because they were so hungry. My husband and I couldn't eat the famous "bozo Burger" because the lettuce and tomato were so soft and just mush. And the French fries were cold and barely cooked. Such a disappointing experience, that I couldn't help but let them know the lack of customer experience. But, after talking with the manager, she did nothing to try and make it right. She made me feel like it was my fault and tried to tell me they kept calling my number. I was standing at the pickup window the entire time and not once did someone ask if I needed anything or if I was waiting on food. It was unbelievable and I highly recommend saving your money and driving a few more exits to another hamburger joint. C&D Drive-In is such a disappointment. Not just in quality of food, but lack of customer...
Read moreI rated this two stars because the place was clean, staff was friendly, food is cooked to order. So hot. But the big French fries weren’t cooked through and we’re so dry I needed to constantly take drinks. The burger Pattie’s were so thin that the bun was to big. Not in the sense the hamburger was to small for the bun, the ratio was just off. I got each of my kids a corn dog, small drink and small fry, you HAVE to order everything separately. It was $20 for all that. Which is insane. It wasn’t memorable in the slightest. I only came here as a halfway point between Washington and ontario Oregon so I could drop my daughter off to visit grandma for a week. I wanted really bad to like it but I couldn’t. Aside from fries not being cooked thoroughly, all of them were except the thick boy fries, the burgers just had no special taste to them. They were to thin of Pattie’s and the fry sauce didn’t even taste like fry sauce, there was a tartness to it, which was fine. I didn’t no you had to order Mayo or mustard on the burgers if you wanted that. And you do have to pay for the fry sauce. But don’t let my experience persuade you not to try it. The staff was super friendly and they were busy but we got our 5 meals fast. The only other negative was the bathrooms. Super dirty. Like truck stop dirty. And the lighting was so bad in the place my daughter didn’t want to pee she was to scared. One bathroom. No stall. Just a bathroom. This is my honest opinion. Nothing to fancy, nothing stood out. Nothing to say “wow they did a good thing here!” You could also order pizza if you’d...
Read moreI would like to preface this entire review by saying that the meal begins with the staff. And my experience from the beginning was mediocre at best with the staff When I go to a mom-and-pop burger joint I like to find something special and I found it nothing special at C&D. I travel a lot for business and pleasure and really like finding hidden gems and was hoping this would be one of them but upon inquiring to the staff as to what makes them special nobody had an answer for me. The closest I got to an answer was "maybe the sauce" so I decided to ask what's they recommend and I got a shrug of the shoulders. Wanting to not eat there but having already taken the effort I decided to order a cheeseburger. Lo and behold that is what I got just a cheeseburger. It was not bad but it was not good. The bun to meat ratio was completely off as every bite included half the amount of meat they should be there. Now some may say that it's just a burger joint on the side of the highway but some of the best places I've ever eaten have been just burger joints on the side of the highway. I felt like somebody had started this burger stand a long while ago and has since retired and left it up to inept management to oversee. For this reason I will be looking into finding the owners to let them know my experience. Maybe it was a mixture of me ordering the wrong burger and getting the wrong servers because I talked to 3 people and maybe I should stop in again and order something completely different but I don't...
