My Husband and I love Marriot. We always stay in one of your Hotels when we are away. Unfortunately this time we did not have a good experience. The Hotel is nice and affordable, however things went bad from the very beginning. We checked in and went up to our room and upon entering the room immediately realized the room was occupied. Obviously the people in the room were startled by us just barging into their room and we were so embarrassed. My husband went downstairs and told them what happened and we were given another room. We get a phone call about 15 minutes later and the person on the phone was asking all these questions about how we made the reservation and under what name then told me we had to go downstairs and reset our keys. She then told me that they had many reservations with people with our same last name and that's how the mix up happened. Everything just seemed off...disorganized and completely unprofessional. The following day we left early for the beach and when we get back at 5pm we wanted to take a shower and noticed there was something wrong with the water. It came out either hot or burning hot. We called, they sent someone who told us it would take at least 45 minutes to fix. He mentioned that if we put it in the lowest setting it was hot but not too bad. Since we were in a hurry we told him we would try to take a bath like that. My 6 year old daughter started to cry saying the water was too hot so I took her out. I immediately went downstairs and asked for a manager. A person was the name of Evan said he was the manager. I told him what was going on expecting for him to quickly resolve the issue and put us in another room, instead he Said that they always have that issue and that the maintenance person said that the water was not that hot. He continue to repeat it through me telling him my daughter was crying of how hot the water was..I got fed up with his attitude and asked for another room. Not very happy about it he agreed to give us another room. I asked him if he was sure the new room was not occupied and he was really upset by my question and told me that that had been an "honest mistake". That, is a terrible mistake and I am still horrified that a hotel can do that and think it's an honest mistake. Evan needs help asap his customer service Skills are really bad, as for us we will not be going back to...
Read moreMy husband and I made reservations at the last minute, which happened to be on Valentines Day evening, and only for one night, as we were on our way to another part of Florida the next day. One time to make an impression—THAT’ S THE KEY TO THIS REVIEW.
We arrived and a very nice gentleman asked if we needed help, got us a luggage rack and loaded it up. A VERY NICE GUY. He took us up to our room, got us ice, and gave us an overview of the restaurants in the complex where the hotel is located.
Check-in on the other hand was entirely different. You know how often people tend to characterize other people past a certain age as somehow ineffective? Well, it goes both ways. The young person that was behind the desk offered not much in the way of a welcome. In addition, when I told him that I failed to mention my AAA membership when making the reservation, with absolutely no regret, he indicated there was nothing he could do and I had to call Reservations.
We paid for a ridiculously overpriced room for one night, with a Concierge lounge “benefit”. The lounge was a joke, which Marriott should be embarrassed to offer. There was NOTHING IN IT, except for a few cans of Mountain Dew and some pretzels.
There was a small sign about a Valentines Day dinner. I couldn’t see a restaurant ANYWHERE.I saw a bar and lounge area with some tables, but no signage to indicate a restaurant. When we got upstairs and saw the very nice and also overpriced room service menu(20% service charge, $5 delivery fee, sales tax—BEFORE a tip), it was REALLY perplexing. Where the heck was the restaurant???!!!!!
The room was fine and very clean.
Considering this hotel is located in Boca Raton, Florida, I expected a different experience.(Actually- what difference does the location make?? It shouldn’t be like this, ANYWHERE.)
First impression:...

After reading other reviews we decided to stay at the Marriott Boca Raton Centre. We are on a road trip from Ontario, Canada so relaxation is key.
When we arrived at the hotel be were blown away by the entrance way and lobby. Beautiful palm trees everywhere.
We were greeted by Jefte at the front desk. He was very professional and checked us in very quickly. When he heard about our bad experience at our previous (non-Marriot) hotel he surprised us with complimentary breakfast passes. What a pleasant welcome!
Next we went up to our room. We are Marriott rewards members that have never really given our Marriott rewards number when booking (been lazy). For this trip we did. We were in room 1108 (concierge level). It had a fantastic view of the promenade and access to the concierge lounge. The room had a pullout couch and fridge, both we did not require but it was great to know the were available.
We quickly went down to the warm outdoor pool for a little R&R. The place is beautiful!!!!!! Too bad I didn't take pictures.
We slept like babies on the lush sheets in the room.
The room was so large that I actually did my DVD workout with no problem.
We then went for breakfast and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The orange juice was a sure treat. Also you must try the hash browns as they were very well done.
As we returned to our room we thanked Jefte for the breakfast.
What an amazing stay and the price was a steal. We feel so relaxed and rejuvenated. Ohhhh and the toiletries smell realllyyyyyyy nice according to my husband.
I would recommend this place to people in...
