Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Bonita Springs — Hotel in Bonita Springs

We’ve stayed in this hotel and other hotels nearby several times as we travel to Bonita/Naples regularly for business.

I will give the good and the bad. But I will not stay here again.

The unbearable: The walls are paper thin. When I say paper thin - I mean I could hear the guy next door going to the bathroom while I got ready. So gross. And I mean hear everything - down to pulling the toilet paper off the roll- and so much more unfortunately. I was standing in the living room section and hear the guy on the other side of the wall clearing out his sinuses and sneezing. I was woken up at 5:30 am to the person next door watching the today show at a reasonable level but felt like I was in the same room. I could hear conversations, moving suitcases, etc regularly. I can’t imagine how miserable it would have been if it were in-season and I was next to a family with small children. I mean it was so ridiculously intrusive. There is 0 excuse for this because it was newly built in 2020 - so Marriott clearly cheaped out as much as possible.

Everything else was just not quite right. They have signs in the elevator advertising their bar with food and board games. So we went. No bartender - sorry. The next day - there was a bartender who told us sorry no food until next week. Main bathroom by the gym out of order. Ice machine on our floor out of order. Pillows are so lumpy again surprising since this is a new hotel. And I did not get a hot shower even though the knob was turned as high as it would go for hot water.

I unfortunately left something of value behind. I asked that it be overnighted to me. After reluctantly leaving my credit card information, I received multiple charges for shipping -‘one almost $150. With no explanation, no receipt, no tracking. When I called I was assured a call back to explain everything. No call. Called again and there was surprise that I hadn’t received the tracking email again. But for something like this - a little extra care - like the call they promised to ensure I had received all the information - would have been good service. And made me feel more at ease. But no, I was chasing for all that information.

The good: They have EV charging. They allowed me to use an empty conference room to take a video call and turned down the music volume in that room when they refused to allow me to check out late for a fee. So I could still take the call even though I couldn’t be in my room. So that was appreciated as is the EV charger.

But in the end - I don’t want to hear my neighbors gross bathroom sounds, or sneezing or conversations. It’s weird and gross. And this place is just lacking. There are other hotels - Hilton properties - that are just as spacious, same price and you don’t hear your neighbors or hall sounds at all. I value my sleep and my privacy. Marriott apparently values the cheapest structure build possible at the expense of guest comfort...

At first everything seemed great with checking in and being helped right away, but after the first day we came back to a room that was still as we left it. The front desk said they only clean the room every other day. The next day came and we were out most of the day. After we came back around 4pm the room was still not touched and the front desk said we were scheduled for that day...sorry but I'm not hanging out in the lobby or somewhere else in case they decided to come at night. Nobody told us they didn't clean every day and that they did cleaning duties all day long. The kitchen staff was very nice and most of the staff was, but if we are paying hundreds per night, I would've expected there to be some room service rather than having tk keep going to the front desk to get more towels and other things the rooms usually need regularly. On top of it all, I was woken up a few times by the guests upstairs. This is the first hotel where I could constantly hear the stomping upstairs. I won't be coming back...

Only overnight stay. Breakfast was free but underwhelming. All workers were nice. Mobile key and Mobile check in easy features and convenient. Just off the interstate (75) Right now 5/2024 there is construction going on next door it does not effect actual hotel but be cautious probably noise in daytime hours. Rooms were thin walls. I read prior reviews about this being a fairly hotel. The shower could use a deep cleaning for sure and shower drain clogged immediately. We did call maintenance we were checking out and we were able to push on shower drain and get it drain but I have read other reviews about clogging so maybe a good pipe flushing or the construction next door is effecting it. I don't know. We were on 2nd floor and immediately at 630am we could smell breakfast. You can take that as a positive or negative...
