We visited this new "boutique" style resort on their opening weekend and it's a solid 3 stars. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating upon arrival; however, there are still lots of kinks to work out at this location. I am giving them a little grace since we were part of the first group to arrive on 6/30/23. Here are my thoughts:
Lovely main lobby that was beautifully decorated. You felt as though you were stepping into a higher end rustic lodge. Coffee bar in the main lobby, games, grab and go snacks and a communal dining area.
Location is great, next door to the Fall Creek and Danna's BBQ/Burger restaurant. You are able to literally walk from your room to either of these dining options. Not too far from main area of Branson but also located where you can take alternate routes to avoid the heavy traffic.
Rooms are small. And DARK. Not a lot lights in the room. Small beside lights that really were not even bright enough to read bedside. We decided it was meant to add to the rustic ambiance feel and intention of this resort. W e were moved to the second floor because the first floor rooms (which are intended for pet owners) was not completed upon checkin. Easy flight up and down, but can be an issue for those with mobility issues. Be mindful of the extra cost to be on the ground floor. Room still smelled of paint since they were recently renovated. Beds are comfy, lovely higher end toiletries. Small shower areas. Very much a motel type set up. TVS were not set up to use, AC was either too hot or too cold. The rooms are not sound proof at all or we just had super loud neighbors above us and beside us. Made for an interesting last two nights since we heard their conversations and foot stomping all night. We would have addressed that but decided not to do so.
Pool area is smaller but very cute. We used the pool every day and enjoyed sitting by the creek listening to the live band for their opening weekend. Wine and beer was provided for their opening weekend but we were told it will cost future guests once they get their liquor license.
Overall, I am not sure we would put this location at the top of our list to stay again considering the price point for what you get. There is no breakfast option nor in room coffee maker so we bought coffee in the lobby which was fancy artisanal coffee. My husband and I just wanted a regular cup of coffee to start our day and disliked the fact we had to pay for it. Their past bc ries are delicious and we enjoyed them bc we were givien a food and beverage credit during our stay which was quickly used the first morning. Branson is a family friendly vacation spot and I feel as though this resort should consider offering a continental breakfast option for the price point of the room. I will say the GM was quick to adjust our final bill bc not all of the amenities listed on their website were available for use. There is a $12 daily resort fee we were not aware of when we booked the room. It was disclosed when we were instructed to checkin online. The resort fee was waived by the GM since I pointed out the promised amenities (cedar hot tub) were not open.
Again, this is a solid 3 star resort. Cute concept that has potential. I just don't feel there is a lot of value behind what they are asking per night. Maybe give this resort a few more months to be truly up and running. Just not ready for prime time...
Read moreI had a pleasant enough stay at the lodge and wasn't planning to leave a review, but the aftermath has been so frustrating that I feel compelled to share my experience.
Here's what happened: I accidentally left my wallet at the hotel during checkout on May 8th. The hotel called to let me know they had it, which I genuinely appreciated since I'm in Northern Illinois and couldn't drive back to retrieve it. Totally my fault, I have voiced on every single one of my phone calls how I understand it is my fault, and thanked them for working with me. Even asked if I should source someone local to pick it up for me and mail it themselves. Crazy, if you ask me.
Fast forward to June 2nd - I still don't have my wallet. Every phone call feels like starting from scratch with different staff members. Even employees I'd spoken with previously would be so unaware of the situation that there was just no accountability or follow-through, only to discover it was still sitting there. Was there no outgoing mail for multiple weeks? This happened repeatedly, even on days when I was promised it would be shipped the next day or that I would receive a call once it was completed. No follow-up. Despite calling at least 15 times, the manager has never once gotten on the phone with me or tried to care about this.
Last Saturday (before Memorial Day), I was told the wallet had finally been sent. I waited patiently through the holiday weekend, understanding that mail delivery might be delayed. Today, I received a call from a mailing center in Branson saying my wallet has been sitting there waiting for payment to be sent out. How was I supposed to know WHERE they dropped it off or that I was supposed to call to pay? Literally - huh?
As someone who has managed teams and businesses before, this level of customer service is unacceptable. A manager should be involved in resolving issues like this, not leaving customers to make endless phone calls with no resolution with staff that is clearly new or don't care about their customer service. I begged for an ounce of putting themselves in my shoes and asked them, I am confused, what else can I do to expedite this? Nothing.
This experience has completely soured my opinion of this location. Looking back at the stay itself, there were several issues I initially overlooked: the soaking tubs were out of order our entire visit, the fire pit by the pool wasn't working, and the rooms had noticeable gaps around the doors letting in outside air. While the beds were comfortable, the rooms felt sterile with blank white walls. The door gaps and thin walls meant you could hear everything happening nearby.
I genuinely loved the overall vibe of the place, but the poor customer service, both during our stay and especially during this wallet situation, has been incredibly disappointing. The front desk staff I interacted with, particularly two male individuals, showed little interest in providing quality service, let alone normal human interaction, even before this drawn-out ordeal began.
Management needs to focus on customer service training and actually step up to resolve issues when they arise. Experience is still experience, whether before the visit, at the visit, online, over the phone, or after the visit. And mine is the dumpster (probably with my...
Read moreMy wife and I carefully searched for places to stay for our 11th Anniversary. When comparing our options, we both decided that The Ozarker Lodge would be the best option. My Wife and I are both employed in Social Work. Our schedules are very busy and stressful. My Wife and I have never really had the opportunity to get away for an anniversary to relax, let alone a real honeymoon. We decided that that staying at The Ozarker had everything that we where looking for, friendly, quiet, relaxing creek, firepits, and hot tubs, even the opportunity to enjoy live music at the pool was a nice thought. We really wanted to relax and not have to worry about going too many places. When reading the reviews alot of people echoed what we thought the stay would be like. We booked our stay for May 2nd through May 4th, but after checking in our experience was completely different than every thing we heard online. I want to say first, that I understand this experience may not happen daily at The Ozarker Lodge, but it feels necessary to share our experience. When we got to our room we noticed that the Lodge was booked with what appeared to be a very large group of kids baseball teams, along with their parents. When driving in and out of the parking lot we had to be very careful because on several occasions we thought we were going to run into the kids because the parents where letting them run everywhere unsupervised, while they drank at the poolside bar. This coupled with the kids and the parents screaming, playing music and being loud until roughly midnight every night, made for a very stressful time. We were never able to enjoy the hot tubs due to them being packed every time we attempted to get in, and the firepit was essentially the same, we couldn't even enjoy anything ouside/inside due to how loud everything was. Everything seemed to echo through the room from outside. Our room was clean and seemed well kept, which was nice, but the soaking tub in the spa king room was a different story. The faucet hangs too far over into the tub, leaving one to maneuver carefully to get out. I am a slender person and I scrapped my back pretty bad on the faucet when getting out of the tub. On Saturday night we even heard someone jiggle our door handle around 8:00pm like they tried to enter the room. We could hear people talking outside the door at the time, could have been accidental, but who knows. Additionally, when checking in I was made aware of additional charges in the amount of $50 a day that would "roll off". I was not really explained a reason for this, and I was completely unaware that there would be additional costs. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. I understand things happen, and some of it is outside of your control. Without being rude, my Wife and I feel like we wasted our Anniversary trip and the extra money spent on staying with The Ozarker Lodge. We left more stressed than before coming. At this point I dont know if we...
