One star only because they refunded our money, so I wasn’t going to post this until today when we realized that’s probably where the bed bugs came from. You’ve probably stopped reading, but here’s the rest. The online system would not allow me to make a reservation for one night, and if we cancelled our two-night reservation, we forfeited one night’s fee. Check-in was in a separate building six miles from the room; the several emails from Wyndham prior to arrival made no mention of this fact. We stopped a random stranger unloading her car, and she gave us the 411. Once we located the check-in building, we stood at the counter for more than five minutes before an employee even appeared. After we checked in, we had to go to yet another building for a parking pass. Hotel staff had told me the “resort” has a sauna, hot tub, etc. Only after we arrived did they mention that they’re not at our location but we could use the “activity center” six miles away – in crawling traffic. Finally at our room, it smelled of old bacon and included someone else’s hairs in the shower (presumably no extra charge) – which had a permanently grimy floor and mildewed tub. The room has a kitchenette: the bourbon we left in a glass for a few hours became cloudy and viscous, the coffee pot was dirty, the disposer stank, and the dishwasher was very loud – but at least we couldn’t hear the neighbors over the dishwasher noise. The walls are terribly thin. We could hear not only the people in the next room talking but also the people they were talking to on the phone. We could also hear them shuffling cards, belching, and laughing. They weren’t being loud – how can you be loud shuffling cards? The walls are just that thin. Security finally asked the people in the next room to turn the TV off at 11:30 PM, so we could get some sleep because we could hear the TV well enough to follow the show they were watching. No one serviced the room on the second (and thankfully last) day. When told about all this, hotel management’s response was “I’m sorry for your inconvenience.” As an extra added bonus, the toilet plunger was in the...
Read moreWe are currently on our vacation, and it has been effectively ruined because of my family's experience at this facility. It took over two hours and 20 minutes to simply check in. After driving in a car 7 hours, that was the the last thing we needed. They first told us that we would have to move in the middle of our stay to a new room a couple doors down, who wants to move in the middle of their stay? Then, the same problem happened with my parents room. Luckily, they worked to fix that issue. In addition to the split room issue, my parents room-which was to be accessible, was not. So after checking in, and having a key issue, they finally got into their room. Not only was the room not accessible as it should've been, there was a cigarette butt floating in the toilet. After a couple calls, they were moved to a room that was accessible. Day 2, after spending the morning out and about, we have returned. Neither of my parents have had their keys near anything whatsoever that could have demagnetized them, however, their keys do not work. So now, they have to wait, AGAIN to get into their room, luckily- my keys worked and they could stay in my room until the issue was resolved, however- they've had to climb (both disabled) many many steps to get to my room to wait. For the millionth time it seems. This is all because the check in facility if several miles from the actual resort. We are all over this. We are again, sitting here waiting for the key issue to be resolved. Wasting our vacation time, AGAIN, and it is a only the 2nd day of our stay. I have spoken to numerous people, and paid a lot of money to stay here.....not one has offered to do anything for our time and trouble. If you want to enjoy your family vacation, don't stay here. We all are fuming mad, and sitting her waiting, while we could be enjoying the day....
Read moreTimeshare property, an auxillary to the other two properties in the area. Checkin was at the Branson at the Meadows, 10 min drive away. We were able to avoid the time share sales meetings because we avoided member services and did not get our bracelates for the other properties pool/rec areas. We reserved a 2 bedroom deluxe, and were placed in a 1 bedroom deluxe with the adjacent efficency unit with a Murphy bed and pass through door. Avantages: two washer/dryers, two dishwashers, two microwaves, two bathrooms and the extra kitchenette and kitchen supplies/dishes, etc. Disadvantage: our kids had their own outside entrance, and the passthrough is the typical double door, which our 7yo closed and locked herself in, so we had to key in from the outside.
Overall, we had to wash all the dishes when we got there, some stuff was put away dirty, buth the cleanliness other than this was good. Beds comfortable, sufgicient towels.
The pool here is a basic pool. But it has an aggressive cove that starts at the 3ft level and goes to the 6ft deep end, which is not marked well, and it and the entire bottom are agressively sanded, which caused two things. Our 13yo didn't see the cove while underwater with goggles on, and smacked her face hard enough to break a tooth and tear up her face, and required two trips to a dentist to get it fixed. And two Our feet were also abraded fairly harshly. We bought aquashoes to protect our feet, which is rediculous. I've been on gravel beaches that have hurt my feet less.
When we come back to the are, we will try to stay at the mountain view or the branson at meadows location instead, mostly because of the separate outside entrance for my kids, and due...
