My husband and I were looking for a low-key retreat for our anniversary. As we currently live in Texas, we missed the fall weather and changing leave colors from our childhoods. I stumbled upon the Bridgeton House through an internet search. It was just exactly what we wanted. We stayed in the penthouse suite and I would certainly recommend this room to anyone. It has plenty of space, a comfortable bed and an amazing view of the river from the balcony. The caveat is that it is a climb as it’s on the third floor and there is no elevator. So if you have any mobility issues, this room isn’t for you. However, they had really lovely rooms on the first floor as well. Breakfast is included in your stay and can be delivered to your room. The breakfasts are over the top delicious and very filling. Every staff member we encountered was so helpful and friendly. It was a very relaxing place, kind of like visiting a relative you’ve known forever. They also have an afternoon tea with delicious snacks. There are several good restaurants in the area, but we opted for more relaxed dinners. We ate a couple of times at the Descendants Brewing Company and had takeout pizza and food from Pipilo’s Pizza. Both of these are walking distance across the bridge in Milford NJ. The tow canal is an excellent place to take a nice long walk and it is right near the Bridgeton House. We met some other folks who were visiting at the same time as us and this couple has been coming there for many years. They said that Diane (who seemingly runs the place) is the heart of Bridgeton House and we agree. So, to sum it up, your stay here can be as active as you want, as fancy as you want or just a relaxing time. You are provided with a long list of options for dining, sightseeing and shopping in the area via email before your stay. Thank you for everything...

Room was comfortable as was the double bed (great mattress and pillows). The in room breakfasts were the best we've ever had at a B&B and better than those served at any hotel we've ever stayed at. There was a great variety of choices and because we were staying a week, we each (there were 2 of us) got to choose our own separate menu each day. Their banana bread was delicious. Their coffee was a medium roast and very tasty. We especially liked their fruity baked oatmeal (They shared their recipe with us.) Sitting out on the large screened balcony overlooking the Delaware River was relaxing. Their afternoon fresh backed cookies smelled and tasted wonderful l. There is on-site off street parking. There is a variety of restaurants in Milford right across the bridge next to the Inn over the Delaware River. There are lots of things to do within a 30-40 minute from the Inn (Frenchtown, New Hope, Bucks County Playhouse. In Dolestown there are more restaurants. Bowman's Hill Tower. Fonthill Castle and Tileworks. We also did the New Hope Railroad excursion train. I wouldn't recommend it. While the train is beautifully restored, it moves at 4 mph; and the parking is a separate vendor and charges $15 per hour. Because they tell you to arrive 30 minutes early and because the train was 40 minutes late in departing, by the time we got back we paid $60 for a boring time. The train staff was friendly and the food options were very limited and they ran out of many things. Seeing the fall foliage was the only redeeming quality. Our last evening there we had an excellent prix fixe meal at the Canal Station Restaurant. Make reservations at least a week before. We look forward returning for another stay at the Bridgeton House Inn. And we live...

First, let me start off by saying that the view of this B&B is amazing, it truly is a very nice location. The breakfast (that they bring to your room) is delicious, and my fiancé and I enjoyed the old-style feel of the renovated home. Now, when my fiancé and I arrived (stayed for three nights) we went into the room and noticed the candies that were left on the nightstand contained nuts, I emailed the B&B prior to our arrival noting our breakfast choice and I stated having an allergy to nuts (they ask that on the form), and they returned with an email confirming that the allergy has been noted. Okay, that wasn't too much of an issue, seeing as I obviously must read all the labels on everything that I eat. Second, when we returned to the room for the night at around 10:30pm I began to turn down the bed, I cannot begin to tell you the amount of black hair on the fitted sheet, it was too much to pick off. This was the most upsetting thing. My fiancé called Zach (maintenance man on-call) and he was there within minutes to hand us new sheets and he also offered a complimentary bottle of wine, which was so incredibly sweet, and we truly appreciated the promptness. The last issue that we had dealt with was the extremely noisy group of people that were next to our room while eating breakfast each morning. We could not understand why they chose to sit where they did. We were on the main floor and there were no rooms next to us, they chose to eat at the entrance of the B&B when each room has their own balcony. Overall, we both truly wanted to love this place, but there were just too many things that has made us decide on...

I can't speak for the other rooms but the River suite was very disappointing considering the price. The bed was old and very uncomfortable and it really hurt my back (could feel the springs). We left at 6/7 am because of this as both my partner and I kept tossing and turning the whole night. I filled out their survey so hopefully they will update the bed for future customers. Unfortunately missed the breakfast due to this as well. The views are so beautiful though, we watched the sunrise and it was gorgeous. As for the response from the owner…I’m honestly appalled. Why would I write this review…if I wasn’t telling the truth…and yes the springs were ever present. But I suppose I am lying…for fun…because I have nothing else better to do. Why else would we leave so early in the morning from exhaustion? You are very unprofessional and inappropriate and I’m embarrassed for you that you obviously can’t take constructive feedback. I will surely not give your establishment another chance. Wow. And no my partner did not leave a nice review, we made the best of our visit prior to the horrible sleep on the bed that absolutely did not have any of what you detailed. Your maintenance person did not sleep on the bed — I did. I do think your other rooms look much nicer than the River suite but I will not back down on my review of this one. I could not find any reviews of the River suite on here, save for one review from 3 years ago so I find it hard to believe it is a “highly requested room.” I’ve attached two very recent Yelp reviews, your responses show a pattern of dismissing any warranted complaints, how interesting.

My husband and I just returned to BH last weekend for our 3rd stay. We had a hectic few months and decided the day before to get away for a few days. We have thought about trying another place but always choose to go back to BH. We love walking over the bridge into quaint Milford as well as driving a few miles down the road to explore Frenchtown. So many cute shops and restaurants. When we feel like going farther we head to New Hope, Lamberton and Peddlers Village. My husband, an early riser loves the hiking path across from BH to get his morning exercise in. On the last night of our stay we will walk across the Milford Bridge to the Canal House Station restaurant for dinner which has always been an amazing meal and memory. This weekend we decided to try fall foliage train ride on the New Hope Railroad which was gorgeous. We have stayed in rooms 1,4 and last year we booked The Delaware for our 25th Wedding Anniversary -all 3 rooms were river facing with screened in porches. We loved all 3 rooms equally bc of the porches! We read, have a glass of wine, catch up, play a board game or just stare off at the wonderful view and decompress. The Delaware room is bigger with a wonderful tub for 2 but we would book any of them as long as they had a porch! The breakfasts and afternoon teas are delicious. The staff is welcoming and treat you like family. We will definitely be back for a 4th time next spring or summer! Highly recommend this gem of a B&B ❤️

This was my wife's and my's fourth stay at the Bridgeton House What can I say that hadn't already been repeated in the reviews over a 1000 times? Well the fact that, when it comes to a distinguishing location in the upper east passageway along the deleware river lies this magical escape B&B! Where once you enter the driveway for the first time, to everytime therefore afterwards, the weight of stress literally drops off your shoulders, and your taken in, captivating the marvelous artistic beauty of nature, to upkeep of a majestic property that has so many points of capturing relaxation! Whether it's down on the dock, sitting at a pair of Adirondack Chairs, to a firepit along the river's edge at night, to on your patio/balcony, listening to the quietness and cleanliness in the air. No matter where your at, or what your doing, I'd like to distinguish the Bridgeton House, to how your feeling! That's what really counts and how all the staff here attend to whatever requests or needs that you might desire having to settle in, to that pillow on the chair in your private balcony-over looking the river, or the greenery around the cottages property,- things just come together easier and better at the Bridgeton House when it comes to relaxation, peace of mind, feelings with the escape to the un-ordinary! Trust me, when it also comes to sharing a stay, once you leave, you won't want to wait for the next time to go back
