Let me start off by saying, WOW! As soon as you pull up to Ken and Heather’s place, you’re mind blown. It is such a beautiful and vintage look to the home and so well kept. When my girlfriend and I arrived, we were immediately greeted by Heather who was beyond sweet. She gave us the grand tour of the house and showed us basically everything they offered, how to work things and answered any and all questions you had. Not to mention they allowed us to check in an hour early since, we arrived earlier than expected. The grounds and the home itself has everything you can possibly need and is extremely “homey” and comfortable. They even add extra touches like a bottle of champagne, waters, milk, coffee, condiments, s’mores ingredients, etc. The views from every window in the home offer a view of the Delaware River. The beds were comfortable. Shower was small but, great pressure. The floating deck on the river was secluded and private and only a walk across to the street to get to. The bicycles were cruisers so, very easy to ride and the 60 mile strip to ride on right on the creek was awesome. We did not get to use the kayaks but, they offered a few kinds. Their communication was probably the best I’ve ever experienced from an Airbnb host. The only two things I can truly say I was not a fan of was the traffic noise since, the house is situated on a main road and the fact that you’re connected to heather and Ken so, you can hear them a bit if quiet and vice versa. Besides that, this place was 5 star! I would recommend this place to anyone at all. I would absolutely come back. Heather and Ken were such nice people and made you feel as if you were in your own home. My girlfriend and I had such a great time and we both appreciate you both for letting us use/stay at your beautiful guest house. Great job overall. 10 out of 10 by far. Thank you so much...
Read moreWhat an incredible weekend staying at this amazing, historical property. Our accommodations and experience here was off the charts. No exaggeration when I say, Every little detail was covered from the moment we pulled in to the moment we checked out. Ken and Heather definitely go above and beyond for their guests. In fact, we never felt like guests at all. We felt like family. About the Property-Inside the Guest House we were greeted with beautiful fresh flowers, chocolates and champagne. The kitchen is stunning and fully stocked to cook the most gourmet meal which includes A one of a kind stove. When we continued our walk through we were amazed by the history not only about the inn itself, but also some of the historical pieces inside the house. Most of the furnishings are so beautifully appointed for the time period and yet so very comfortable. Especially, the sitting and living room. Which, we enjoyed every night cuddling up by the warm fireplace. The upstairs was just as beautiful. With one of the most comfortable beds and linens ever! The spa-like bathroom did not disappoint either. Especially the lavender bath salts, that helped to melt all my stress away. Very much needed! And no worries about privacy, because we had the entire guest house all to ourselves. Come and go as we please with our very own private entrance. My fiancé and I highly recommend this beautiful, historic property for a romantic getaway, family getaway or even a girls trip! No matter the occasion, you will not be disappointed! We look forward to returning soon!
Thank you again, Ken and Heather for a memorable Valentine’s Weekend! Looking forward to see you very soon! Much...
Read morePreparing to write a review, I scanned to see how others and described their stay at Riverstone 1730. The words “elegant, warm, historic, friendly, welcoming, charming”, etc, etc have already been used to convey the experience, and I can only agree. It is the Hollywood vision of Colonial American life - with indoor plumbing and no livestock underfoot. Classic architecture and construction, lovingly and meticulously updated for comfort while maintaining the charm and romance of the 1700’s. While the bedrooms are colonial, the mattresses (let’s be honest - you don’t want to ‘sleep tight’ on a rope frame and hay mattress) are outstandingly comfortable and covered with a thick quilt you’ll have one of your best sleeps ever. The bathroom boasts a soaking tub and large shower and plenty of hot water - no waiting for someone to pour in a bucket from the hearth. Speaking of the hearth, Colonial Americans may have enjoyed coffee, and you will too, but you’ll have the option of a Kureg in a full, modern kitchen or a delightful country store/cafe just a short, scenic walk away. Mention Ken & Heather & Riverstone and you’ll be treated as family there. If conditions are right, you can walk over to the bank of the Delaware River and enjoy drinks on the floating dock, walk or ride bikes on the Delaware Canal Towpath, or take a slightly longer walk (or short, short drive) over to the picturesque village of Milford NJ with shops, restaurants and the like. Ours was a short stay (this time!), and we will not only recommend it to our friends, but to total strangers as well; once you’ve stayed with Ken & Heather you won't be a...
