This is everything I want in a bake shoppe. While I tend to use the phrase āoh, my god,ā when I feel Iāve died and gone to Heaven, it certainly seems a contradiction in terms considering the sinfully rich selection of desserts offered. When you want to be bad, this is the place to go.
Chocolate in the Oven is that perfect little center of town bakery. It is big enough for a wonderful assortment of treats, yet small enough to make you feel exactly like a kid in a candy shoppe. Colorful confections fill their perfectly displayed cases, leaving you longing for one of each.
Immediately upon entering, before my eyes was a devilishly decadent looking chocolate chip cookie cheesecake square. Perhaps it was just as well that I didnāt look around further before making my selection. However, while it was being packaged I couldnāt help but notice how amazing the cupcakes looked a couple inches away and added to my order (for my family). When everything was boxed and paid for, I allowed my eyes to wander further and continued to drool.
All good reviews generally include pictures. But all I could think about was diving into my cheesecake square which I finished within a mile of leaving, while cruising the equally appealing and lovely streets of Milford.
Strategically speaking, I have a reason to go back for the sole purpose of taking pictures š
For the record, I am a lover of cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies. And in this combination, one plus one equals a ten! The first bite was everything I expected and more. Plus, it was possible to hold it like a cookie to eat while I was driving. Although it was big enough to have cut into four smaller squares, it kept beckoning to me at each red light I hit. Absolute perfection.
Visiting Chocolate in the Oven is a sensory experience, and the expectation is not only met, but far exceeded. Even their boxes are appealing.
Hats off to their baker, Meredith, who I interviewed for an article I was writing about their cookie fundraiser for a local Special Olympics athlete. They had put the athleteās image on cookies, and proceeds were going to her team. I actually went in to buy these cookies, which I am happy to say I did as well. A business that gives back to the community is an A-class establishment.
I canāt wait to go back. This bakery is now my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent for the Milford Live Donut Fest, it was my first time. We are semi new to the area and have been looking for a yummy donut shop that isnāt Dunkin. I was excited to see this event being advertised on FB. Unfortunately it rained that day but I was advised they were still open. I went and drove 30 mins just to get there and be told donuts that were specifically advertised werenāt even available. I believe there were supposed to be 15 different varieties but when I got there they said they scaled back due to the rain. I said I specifically came for the Maple Bacon which the guy helping me was acting like that was never an option. I advise that is was specifically advertised and I just kind of got blown off. The owner was right there and didnāt offer any kind of help or explanation. I still went to purchase a few varieties. The apple cider was a family favorite but everything else was just kind of blah. I wouldnāt go again due to customer service and the regular menu didnāt look like anything I...

I drove an hour and ten minutes to get here and it was worth every delicious bite! She had one in March at an AirB&B in Finesville and was in HEAVEN! I surprised her for her birthday and she was so excited to have this again! The service was wonderful and despite the fact that there was a very unappreciative child in the shop with her mom, she was actually yelling at her mom, the woman working was so nice. THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM!! We will be back! So worth the drive and even dealing with that...
