Words can not describe our stay at the Inn on Whitworth and it was mainly due to Sally! My husband and I stayed in Brookhaven this past weekend, due to an unexpected visit to his family in Hazelhurst, MS. Not really being familiar with the area, Google reviews led us to the Inn on Whitworth. We were so amazed at the quaint downtown area and impressed with the Inn. Our room was spacious and modern. It reminded me of an old apartment I rented in Baltimore, MD that was created from an old warehouse. The common kitchen was stocked with complimentary beverages (juices, coffees, teas, sodas, water and even beer if that is your thing). Complimentary breakfast was offered daily. I'm not much of breakfast person, but there was fruit, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt and pastries. It all looked delicious. Our room was equipped with a small fridge and Keurig. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with plenty of towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I've stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels over the world, this Inn could compete with the best of them! Sally was so friendly, eased all anxiety from such a long trip. Because our room did not have a window, my husband and I was able to get some much needed rest. If you like natural sunlight, ask for a room with a window. It worked for us this weekend. When we freshened up and came out of our room for dinner, Sally had champagne and pastries from Janie's (which is next door) and a hand-made Valentine's day card. I asked my hubby if he arranged that with Sallie and he embarrassingly said no lol. It was all her idea and all I could do was give her a big hug!!! Anyway, if ever you find yourself in the Brookhaven, Hazlehurst, Crystal Springs area and are looking for a quaint, hip town--definitely do not pass up The Inn on...
Read moreI'm not sure where to begin. This place is amazing. Staff was great. Attention to detail was beyond our expectations.
My wife and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary with Sally and her team at The Inn. Upon arrival you felt very welcomed and you then realized how much work they have put into this little Inn. The art work on the walls and the ceiling are all from local artists and it's very well done.
Right now we all struggle with ensuring a place is clean and they have done just that. Everyone is wearing a mask, they are sanitizing every inch of the place throughout the day, and the rooms were extremely clean.
They went out of their way to do little things for us during our stay such as leaving some little cheesecake bites outside our door and some tiny bottles of champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary at the end of night. They also left some tiny chocolates on our bed for turn down service.
Their breakfast both days we were there was amazing and the staff member was creating most of it from scratch. Our first morning we had an array of items to choose from such as quiche, grits, fresh fruit, biscuits, donuts, and more. Can't remember it all. At the end of breakfast she had even baked an apple walnut pound cake and we took a small piece back to our room.
If you ever make your way to Brookhaven and want an amazing place to stay at one of the best Inns in the...
Read moreSimply put, if you are planning to stay in this area, and you stay anywhere else but here, you are nuts. In my opinion, there is not one detail I could poorly rate The Inn on Whitworth. First and foremost, they have the friendliest staff from top to bottom that you will ever find. Second, the common areas, as well as guest rooms, are cleaner than any hotel you will find. Third, the rooms are stocked with every item you need- iron, hairdryer, better than average soaps, shampoos, and toiletries, as well as certain rooms like the one we booked have fully stocked kitchens, with all silverware, glassware, and eating/serving needs. Next, the common area kitchen is fully stocked with enough snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks to feed a small country, and the nice lady that cooks breakfast for the guests (starts cooking at 6:00am and serves promptly at 7:30 on Saturday) treats the guests like family, and puts out a spread that will keep you from wanting lunch until mid afternoon. The cherry on top is the area of town is great- you don't have to worry about your car getting broken into, or any problems at all- if you like a nice "downtown" scene with a lot of nice places to eat, hang out, or simply just walk around, then this is the place for you as well. We will be going back...
