My family and I stopped here to dine in on our way back to Jackson from New Orleans, because we had heard about this place on the local news when it was voted best margarita and the owner of the place had such a great genuine personality when they interviewed him; it was one of the main things that drew us into this restaurant plus we were hungry, so we decided to try it out. Eventhough we didn't come for margaritas, we were thoroughly impressed by our experience here! The very first thing that I admired about the restaurant was how it's located in a small town downtown area, because it gives off that cozy and welcoming feeling; it makes me feel at home. When we first walked in, we loved the atmosphere with the beautiful imagery, color scheme, and cultural floral artistry on the walls accompanied by the Latin music playing on the radio. However, I do have to warn you that it is a bit cold in there so just bring a jacket lol. But apart from that, the food did not disappoint!! I ordered the Quesabirria with refried beans and it was scrumptious!!!🤤😋🌮❤️ The beef was perfectly tender and well seasoned perfectly complimented by the sauce and melted cheese along with the bit of brightening zest provided by the lime. I have to say though that the salsa and the guacamole we got with our chips was a little spicier than we expected but that's just us. (It was still good to me) Other than that, we absolutely LOVED the queso and chips we were given by the owner/manager. (It was rich, creamy, and flavorful😋🧀) He was so personable and had one of the best personalities I've ever seen in a manager. We were waited on with excellent efficient and attentive service, and our dining experience was only made better by the discount we received for being first-time customers.🙏🏽 Needless to say, we left very satisfied, and honestly the whole experience felt therapeutic to me, because overall based on the food, atmosphere, and service you can tell that 3 things are evident in this establishment: love, kindness, and...

My father and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tortilla Soup in Brookhaven, MS, and I have to say, the experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the friendly and attentive service, but the food truly stole the show.
First up, the tortilla soup—it was a bowl of pure comfort. The broth was rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat. The crispy tortilla strips, fresh avocado, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime added an extra layer of flavor that made each spoonful even more delightful. It’s the perfect dish for warming up on a cool day!
But the real star of the meal was the taco combo. We opted for the shrimp, chicken, slow-braised beef, and quesabirria tacos, and each one was absolutely phenomenal. The shrimp tacos were tender and flavorful, the chicken was juicy with just the right seasoning, and the slow-braised beef practically melted in my mouth. The quesabirria tacos—with their savory filling and melted cheese—were the standout, bursting with rich, mouthwatering flavor. Every taco was fresh and packed with ingredients that complemented each other perfectly.
What made the experience even more memorable was the exceptional service. The staff at Tortilla Soup went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great meal. The servers were attentive and friendly, always checking in without interrupting the experience. The manager even took the time to stop by my table to ensure everything was to my liking, which made me feel truly valued as a guest.
If you’re in Brookhaven and looking for a place with outstanding food and impeccable service, Tortilla Soup is a must-visit. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of tortilla soup or a delicious taco combo, this restaurant will exceed your...
Read moreI wish that I could give it 0 stars. My family and I are in town from Dallas, TX and we are staying in the area of the restaurant Tortilla Soup and we visited the website before dining and per the website it states at first visit you get a free margarita. We already planned to buy additional drinks but the free margarita was more of an encouragement to go. Once arriving to Tortilla Soup first we were not greeted at the door, once we were finally seated at our table. The waitress failed to introduce herself and when asking about the free margarita for first time dinners she was not privy to what the website shows. We asked for a manager so that we could get a better understanding of what was posted on their website. It took the manager a long time to come to our table. We asked the waitress to please call him and asked for his name. She did not want to provide his name as well as lying about what his name was. Finally the manager Adan or Adon came to our table when asking about the margarita offering per their website Adon says that it was per table so that meant only one person out of 4 got a free margarita. The website and the manager were unclear. Adon was a terrible manager even though he did not provide the margarita he could have been nicer and more forthcoming with the information. Now to the food. It was mid nothing impressive or mildly good. I was very disappointed after our 6 hour drive. The waitress was rude didn’t ask us if we needed refills and we all spent over $150 or so dollars. I will NEVER visit or recommend this place to anyone when we visit...
