Magnolia Blues BBQ Company — Restaurant in Brookhaven

Due to Googles rating system the lowest score I could give this place is a one star review. At best this place might earn half a star, only due to their margaritas. By chance we choose to try this restaurant, and were quickly regretting our decision.

From a party of four being seated at a table that is better suited for a bistro. Not wanting to take money away from the server we made due. We had to remove every thing from the table just to make room for the appetizer let alone the meal.

The French Fry Pie was edible and a good size if not for the undercooked beans in the chili. As for the entrees this place failed miserably. Two of the plates ordered were the large baby back ribs and the smoked chicken plate. Both meats were so dry and over seasoned with peppercorn that the bbq sauce couldn’t save it.

As for the wait staff, there needs to be better training regarding the menu listings as well as the prices. (Apparently the prices had gone up from what their menu said) Ordered the large ribs, but what came out was the full rack. After a few bites of the ribs the plate was given back to the server. When the server asked what to do with the plate, she was told to throw it away it’s not to my liking. This should have been a clue to the server that something is wrong. As for the bill we noticed that the server charged us for the whole rack instead of the large rack that was actually asked for. This wouldn’t have been much of a problem if not for having to get the menu and show the server that there are actually three different quantities of ribs that is offered.

In short if you want to throw away your money on inedible food this is the place for you. If you want a nice place to eat with the family that has good food, then this is definitely not the place for you. Run don’t walk away...

Haven’t eaten here in almost 3 years but decided to do a pick up order. Really rough experience. First of all, the menu prices on the Facebook page obviously need updating. We ordered 2 big porkers ($14 a piece) with a side. I would say it was worth it but the side literally comes in what we know as a little sauce cup. When we picked the order up, my husband asked about bbq sauce and was told it was in the boxes with our food. We got home and found no bbq sauce so we went back. They tried to CHARGE us then for the bbq sauce and instead of just giving it to my husband, the manager had to get involved. For some bbq sauce! For bbq from a bbq place. I could understand if the sandwich had some with it, but it didn’t. By the time we got through with the whole situation and got home, our $12 dollar pulled pork nachos were COLD, it hardly had any queso on it, the meat isn’t any kind of shredded. It’s clumped up, queso was hard because it had cooled so much. All in all, was nowhere near worth what we paid for. We will stick with Dumps. If you are looking for the best burger or BBQ in SW Mississippi, this is THE place. I highly recommend their brisket. It is some of the best I've had. Their burgers/sandwiches are ALL pretty much awesome, but the Prime Burger is an absolute stand-out. The fries there are known as a State-wide best-of winner, but in my opinion, the onion rings are even better. The folks I know who have tried them speak VERY highly of their steaks and filets. They also happen to have a whiskey selection that is the best I've come across from Jackson to Natchez. The staff there has always been super-friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The only knock I can try to give the place is that it gets busy some evenings, but I've never seen that delay their service to the point of being unacceptable. When it comes to the best restaurants that the town of Brookhaven has to offer, this is the over-all winner.

Pro-tip: happy hour at their bar runs from 3 to 6 and they almost always have some good music or a ballgame on while the locals shoot the breeze and unwind after work. The live music they hire to play some nights is pretty much...
