After driving 20 hours I was told I did not have a room. I had not gotten a cancellation, but I did have a confirmation number. After driving 20 hours I was not in the best of moods, and I did explode. I am not proud of this and I profusely apologized. Surprisingly, they found me room. When I was bringing in my service dog, they told me I owed them money for the dog which is illegal. I explained that to them, showed them my dog’s papers and they still had me pay $20. I was too frustrated and did not want to cause another scene to deal with them, so I paid it. I figured I would call corporate. once I got to the room it was so disgusting I sat on the edge of a worn dirty, flattened out chair. This non-smoking room had a comforter that had obviously been melted by some sort of flame. The sheets were dirty, I saw that one, and I was checking for bedbugs, and there was a definite scent in the air of things that weren’t clean. The snotty person at the desk told me that the $20 was so they could clean the carpets after a an animal peed. Well, they’re pocketing the money. Because this place smelled like pee, I left the room immediately preferring to sleep someplace else even if it was in my car. I went back to get a refund and they gave me everything back but the $20. I have a hinted that I think that’s a scam? Well I think it is. When I asked for the owner, I was told he was in the hospital. I waited a month to contact them because if it was true, I wanted to give him some time at home and I’m still disgusted by the place Iwas told he’s still not available that he has health issues. But they did not offer me anybody who could speak in his place. I preferred to stay in my car, then to stay in their room. Do not go to this hotel after a little research I found out that some very bad things have happened there. And the clientele outside was less than family friendly...
Read morePros....the queen bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet and the heater/air conditioner ran well. Big flat screen TV. Mini fridge and microwave. Ample parking space. Lots of fast food resteraunts nearby. Coffee was good. Vending and ice machines. Cons.....Check-in was at 2:00 but, my room wasn't ready till 5:15. The manager told me that she needed a card on file for "incidentals" (like I need Motel 8 towels). Didn't mind the card on file, but she charged it for $99.00 without telling me (I found out after I was in my room). When I asked her for a receipt....she was unable, but gave me a handwritten note and her word that it would come off. The soda in the vending machine was over priced and flat. They are selling cigarettes in the candy machine (seriously). Only two pillows on the queen size bed. Lighting is poor. Comforter on bed was dirty and dingy ( I took it off the bed). The shower fixture was busted and hanging down and I could not adjust the dial so I had to spray myself with full blast pressure. Okay.....the "complimentary continental breakfast" was absolutely pathetic. I don't know why they even offer it. Coffee....dirty juice, bread paired up and stacked in baggies and some old cheap cinnamon rolls (the kind you buy at the bargain mart for $2.99 a dozen) and some oatmeal packs.....no milk or hot water to make it even if you wanted to. Overall....its a good place to stay for a nights rest, but don't expect much...
Read moreThe list of issues is long: -the entire place is in general disrepair... holes in the walls all up and down the hallway -exterior doors are wide open with no need for a passkey to get in -no interior chain lock -dingy, very poorly lite hallways, not all fixtures covered or in place -not a single vending machine worked -bed only had a cover sheet -mattresses were both filthy, stained -bathroom is extremely poorly lite... but that is good so it is more difficult to see how stained/dirty the tub is -phone was so dirty that it should only be used in case of emergency -the 'breakfast' area was so sparse that we decided to forego our 'free' breakfast. -room was booked for 2 occupants yet we had 1 bath towel, 1 face cloth, 1 mini-soap and 1 bath floor mat - that's it. -at my Wyndham Rewards level I'm to get a preferential room. When I booked I asked for non-smoking... that was ignored. -the sign says 'best rates in town', or something similar... there's a reason for that and it's obvious once you step inside the door. -there was 8-10 cars in the parking lot overnight... apparently most have already gotten the message to not stay here
I could easily write a 5000 word essay on how poor this place is but it isn't worth my time, BUT, I do hope others take the other reviews seriously. I have no idea how Wyndham/Super 8 can allow this ownership to spoil...
