I came here on a whim bc I needed time to myself. I saw the price, the jetted tub, and the fact that it was so close to my favorite beach (Moonstone) and I just couldn't pass it up! Other hotels in the area is 2x up to 5x the cost! I read some of the reviews on noise and outdated design. Honestly, I think those people are just crazy! It was fairly crowded during my stay and I didn't hear anything I wouldn't at any other hotel. In fact, it was pretty quiet. And I enjoyed the quietness. They have trees and shrubs decorating the outside which made it feel peaceful. As for the inside of the room, those lousy reviews made it seem like I was going to enter a 70s room! My room looked like any other room you can find at another hotel! Y'all just acting bougie 🙄 And the service?? AH-mazing! The front receptionist, I believe his name was Edgar, he was top notch! Smiled, gave eye contact, made conversation, inquired on my needs and if I was satisfied w my stay. He even took the time to try to say my name right and even complimented my hair. Definitely above and beyond! And the free breakfast??? This wasn't your cold cereal and milk breakfast! This was a buffet of freshly cooked eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy and everything else you would think of for a breakfast menu! I saved a minimum of $15 on my trip with their breakfast buffet. Imagine a family of four!

If you can get the room w the jetted tub, I highly suggest that you do. 100% fantastic for someone who needs a good hot bath 👌

It is also conveniently located just 5 min away from Cambria and also close to Hearst Castle and other places. Along the drive, there are many view points and access to the beaches. You really can't go wrong driving on the 1 for the views but the fact that you can stop in so many places along the hwy to get to the beach is just fantastic 😍

I enjoyed my stay here so much that I've already booked my next stay, this...

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms were good and we went for the ocean view balcony which was very nice. It's not "right on the water" so you have highway 1 and other hotels/businesses as part of the view, but still nice to see the ocean beyond plus you can hear the waves crashing at night. Of course a hotel "right on the water" would have been soooo much more expensive so we opted for this place and we were not disappointed. Beds were not bad and the pillows were super comfy. Hotel manager (Edward) was so nice, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast was more than I expected. Scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon (alternating days), waffles, biscuits and gravy, bagels or toast. This ain't no continental breakfast like a lot of places.....at this hotel, you are fed! Another plus was that pets stay FREE! We have a husky and our girl goes everywhere with us, so it was nice to not have to pay extra for her. She loves her outdoors, so she really enjoyed the balcony as much as we did. The only negative was the jacuzzi in pool area. The jets were not good, not strong at all....more like a trickle instead of a jet. Pool is kept warm (80) throughout the year which is nice, but it was cold weather so it was not warm enough. We went for a Xmas vacation and it was cold at night, so that's totally understandable. Appreciate the fact that they do keep the pool warm throughout the year and not just seasonal. We definitely had a great stay and will be back again! Looking forward to visiting when it's warmer weather. : )

P.S. They serve cookies and hot chocolate with whip cream at...

The hotel room we were given looked correct as booked. I was on a weekend trip, I booked the room with a fireplace and whirlpool/jacuzzi style tub.

-The fireplace didn't work. -Multiple lights in the bathroom didn't work, includingt he exhaust vent fan. -The faucet in the room -not the one in the bathroom- had a crack in the pipe and shot water out the side towards a light switch if you tried to use it. -When we did use the tub, unknown to us, the plumbing was leaking through the walls into the carpeted area of the room which left huge wet spots. It even flooded across the room in what I would assume is a low spot in the concrete under the carpet.

We asked the front desk, were told this was a known issue, and were given the solution of a stack of towels.

The room was pretty miserable after this as the carpet was just wet everywhere. Everytime me or my partner got up out of bed to use the bathroom or grab a drink of water or anything we were walking through soaked carpets.

Upon checkout, I was told by a new person at the desk that I needed to contact Customer Service for a refund. I have since contacted customer service, and now have been told by them that I need to contact the hotel directly for a refund. I called the hotel, to be told only the general manager can handle those issues, and they then hung up on me. No solution has been found at the time of this review.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The "deferred maintenance" is highly tangible, and made the experience quite unpleasant.

Honestly, decent budget stay and a nice breakfast. I'm giving it a solid 4 stars because although the hotel was old and frankly a bit run down, the staff were great! Welcoming and friendly even with our crazy late check in after midnight. They serve a full hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, diy waffles, sausage, bacon, various breads/bagels & spreads, potatoes, even have biscuits and gravy, cereals, cookies, tea/milk/coffee juice, yogurt, etc. If you think of this as buying breakfast plus a night stay, it's a good deal. Most other hotels just do a Continental breakfast, which means small snacks like a couple pastries and fruits if you're lucky. We paid $80 for a night. The rooms themselves were old and the hotel in general is falling apart. The cushioned chair inside our room was literally black from dirt or wear. Various parts of the carpet/walls/baseboard falling apart. Our fire alarm (on the ceiling) malfunctioned once for 10 seconds then never had an issue afterwards. However, a big plus especially if you're staying more than a night is the large mini fridge. Our room was also pretty large. Overall, nice stay for the price, of course. Staff were excellent. Only other knock I can give is that they stopped serving sausages 20 minutes before breakfast ended!

Yes, the rooms are fairly basic, but the value is great and the front desk when we arrived was wonderful. Helped with our bags, answered all of my silly questions, and even kept the pool open an hour later when he saw that we had a toddler who had been cooped up in the car for six hours and was absolutely dying to go for a swim. Technically, the pool closed five minutes before we got there. But he took one look at my kids’ faces when he told us it was closed, and immediately offered to keep it open a little longer. I was so so grateful. Even at 10 PM, he made sure the hot water was topped off so that I could have tea before I went to bed. Just all around a really great guy who made what could’ve easily been a blasè one night stop over in the middle of a road trip into a lovely experience. Everything was clean and well taken care of, if not, Shin and new. But honestly, for the price, who cares? We drive up and down the coast a lot, and this is going to be our first pick for a central coast area stop from now on.
