Mike and Windrush Inn - we were back as promised!
Our host Mike was able to provide our family with the opportunity to rent an incredible 5 day and 4 night stay in units, Bay, Gale and Harbor House. With a large family, including some visiting from out of the country, Windrush was an obvious choice to unwind and delight not only in each other but in the outstanding property that is Windrush Inn. With a total of 12 family members ranging in age from 1year to 80somethingsomething, we were all comfortable and had plenty of space.
Each unit was well stocked with a Keurig and plenty of KCups, microwave and small refrigerator. Bottled water was also a nice touch to be greeted with, along with a set of paper plates/utensils for eating on the run. The bathrooms were clean and also well stocked with amenities such as soap, shampoo, conditioner and of course towels. Bedding and reading table were comfortable and clean. Regarding Gale unit, I would also like to comment that this is an ADA unit and was very helpful for the "somethingsomethings" who needed the easy access provided.
Harbor House is a wonderful living space where the entire family could gather for meals and sunsets, catching up, reading or playing games. The kitchen is more than the family could have asked for. Full appliances, well stocked utensils and cookware, including a dishwasher made our stay even more convenient. The washer and dryer came in quite handy with little ones! The views are outstanding from every window whether it be sea or green space. I personally spent my share of time relaxing in the dedicated outdoor space with a beverage or two simply appreciating the sea air and sunsets.
Full disclosure: I did read reviews that commented on the phone reception. This was not a problem that our group experienced. Windrush Inn has amazing wifi and we all had strong cell service, which included video calls to foreign countries.
Yes, there are many fun activities within walking and driving distance from Windrush Inn but I do enjoy the Inn itself for all it has to offer.
Since I am a returning guest, I know that Windrush was remodeled in 2022 and this is my second stay since it reopened. Mike continues to maintain the utmost pride in Windrush and his efforts have not gone unnoticed, continuing to add positive features. My husband and I have and will continue to recommend Windrush Inn to our friends, fellow travelers and explorers and hope to see the Inn again soon. Thank you again to our host, Mike.
Sorry...

Read moreThis was our 5th stay at Windrush Inn on Moonstone. This time we got upgraded to the Gale room, which is a front view room, a little larger than the other two rooms but with a magical view of the ocean across the street through two lovely big picture windows. The room was just perfect for our 5-day 4-night stay, our only regret is we weren’t staying longer. The room comes with two queen-size beds, a refrigerator, and a coffee pod maker with plenty of coffee pods. It has everything you need for your stay. ||We couldn’t fault the room, nice big TV, seating area around a four-seat table by the picture window, plenty of onsite parking. The staff are super friendly, and Mike the General Manager is excellent to work with, and very attentive to your needs. You would be hard pressed to find better accommodation along Moonstone Drive, especially if you are looking for a smaller hotel, this has 4 units so it’s nice and peaceful. We certainly would highly recommend this place to stay in Cambria and certainly we will be back again, hopefully in the near future when our travels take us...
