I'm a truck driver and needed a room because I was out of hours to drive. It was around 4:30am and I was glad they had a room available. Every other hotel in the area was booked. When I checked in, I explained to the night receptionist that I would need the room for 10 hours, so I could meet my required DOT break. I was told that it wouldn't be a problem.
At 11am, I got a knock on my door waking me up, even though I had the Do Not Disturb tag on the door. I just said "no", thinking it was just housekeeping and they left without a word. It obviously was housekeeping, because 5 minutes later I got a call from the front desk telling me that I had 15 minutes to leave the room and check out! I explained that I was a trucker and had told the night guy I'd be checking out by 3pm. The woman told me that I couldn't stay "because they were sold out for the evening. I had 15 minutes to get my things together and leave. If you'd like to see if we have any rooms available later, I could check into a room then."
I took a 3 minute shower, brushed my teeth and quickly gathered my stuff. When I got to the front desk, I was met by a Mid Eastern man and woman, who I assumed were the owners. The man actually asked me "how was your stay? " REALLY?!!! I said it would have fine, if hadn't been kicked out of the room after only a few hours of sleep. The man IMMEDIATELY raised his voice and had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault and responsibility to know when the checkout time was. Even after I told him I had mentioned my late checkout to the night guy. I will admit that there was "loud" conversation from that point on. He told me that I was a very bad and rude guest. I replied by telling him they were very bad and rude hosts, and extremely unprofessional. I told him I would have to sit in my truck for 4 hours and he just said "that's not my problem." I did sit in the driver's seat of my truck for 4 hours afterwards.
Anyway, summary is that the staff is very rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. They obviously don't care about hospitality toward their guests or attempting to accommodate a guest, even when staff is misleading or wrong.
It is not well kept or clean...
Read moreMe and fiancé did not like this place. For the most part it is your standard hotel with no major safety or health concerns. But there were just so many little things that got under our skin compared to other hotels. The front entrance sign is small and easy to miss. Most of the front parking you cannot use because sometimes truckers will pull into the hotel parking lot instead of the next door gas station. So if you are parked in the wrong spot and that happens then you will either get asked to move your car by staff or get hit by a truck. Even when we called and asked about parking specifically we were not informed about this until after we were unpacking our fully loaded car. Staff almost gave us the wrong room, but luckily they caught themselves before it was too late. Getting to our room was a pain in the but because we were told to use the side doors at the end of the hallway but ,surprise surprise, the outside doors have trouble reading the cards because of the moisture in the air. Staff said they are aware of the issue and that you just need to try it a few times to make it work. I tried it ten times and gave up. The room itself was fine, except for the bathroom. that thing was itty bitty and almost requires you to stand in the bathtub to close the bathroom door. The door closes with about a quarter of an inch clearance to the toilet. Speaking of the toilet, be careful because the first time my fiancé used it the thing almost overflowed. The bathroom also does not have a fan so it gets steamy and stays steamy in there. If you are staying multiple nights or have more than one person staying in a room then I recommend bringing your own soap or asking for more at check in because the tiny bottles they have are basically single use. Before going to bed I found a small dark red stain on the sheets which I assumed to either be dried blood or lipstick. It did not surprise me at that point and I did not care anymore. We left early the next morning and planned to never return. Also the...
Read moreMy husband and I, and my daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren planned a trip to the Biltmore estate for July. I found this Quality Inn in Canton and decided that the trip in to Asheville wouldn't be too far if we stayed here. I reserved 2 rooms, 1 king and 1 queen double. When we arrived, the booking agent had given us the properly reserved rooms and they were adjoining. The rooms were lovely, with very modern and nice, clean furnishings. Our king room was very spacious and comfortable. The queen double room was also nice, but a little more cramped than ours because of the 2 separate beds, but was still very comfortable. We were checked in by Mr. Nanda, and he was extremely helpful, hospitable and courteous. He answered all my questions and said to let him know if we needed ANYTHING. He showed us on the site map how to get to our room, the best place to park to make sure our vehicles would be seen on the security cameras, how to get to the pool and where the dining area was, saying coffee was available 24/7. He was so helpful and polite during our entire stay--he was one of the nicest hotel employees we have ever encountered. Mrs. Desai was on the morning shift and she also was a most excellent hostess. One of my grandsons used my husband's towel, so I asked to exchange it for a dry one, and she obliged and said to just keep the first one. I also forgot to pack my husband's toothbrush and she provided one for him. Breakfast each morning was awesome and there was a good choice available for each of us. She kept everything plentiful and fresh. She and Mr. Nanda both did a fantastic job of keeping the site clean, comfortable and enjoyable! They were accommodating, helpful and attentive. Kudos to both of them! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the...
