Budget Inn Motel & Restaurant — Hotel in Cape Girardeau

I would not even give this hotel 1 star. The lady at the front desk was absolutely the most rude person I have ever met in my life. I had checked out of another hotel expecting to leave town, here on business when my stay got extended for an extra night. I typically book hotels thru hotels.com but there were no smoking rooms available in any other hotel and the one I stayed in was booked up. I called to check availability and was told that they had rooms but could not reserve one, it was first come, first serve. I went by there mid-work day and paid for a room for 2 people, then went back to work. When I got there later and checked my room, there was not enough bed space for 2 people. She showed me another room that was roomy enough but was in such disrepair it was unbelievable. I said ok, wasn’t going to be there but to sleep and go back to work the next morning anyway and then she says please don’t destroy my property! I am well dressed and groomed, carrying stylish bags and driving a brand new vehicle. No idea why she would ever tell any customer such a thing! I would have cleaned up that room before touching anything anyway. I was floored, asked her what she just said to me as her English wasn’t great and maybe I misheard her. She repeated that she did not want us destroying her property. I asked for my money back and left. We ended up staying at Comfort Suites which was further for work the next morning, but very nice and I will be staying again on future business...

Worst place I have ever been to. We were unable to get rooms in any other, nicer looking places, so we were stuck having to get this one. We should have slept in the street, it would have been better. Room had musty smell, looked like there had been a roof leak that they tried to fix, with caulking. The walls looked like they were separating and you could see the tape on the drywall where it was separating from the wall. In the bathroom, the tub/shower was so disgusting, we wouldn't even think about using it. The towel rack was barely attached to the wall and when you moved the towel rack a little bit the entire wall moved. (I have pics of this!) People walking the balcony area ALL NIGHT talking loud. The window moved in its casing when we were trying to adjust the curtains so no could see into the room. You could see daylight all the way around the outer door. Only 2 outlets in the whole room and both of those were electrical hazards. Please do not subject yourself to a place like this!!! Its not worth the $65 a night at this...

i just tried to book a room there would not recomeend this hotel to anyone the hotel worker was very very rude it took them forever to answer the phone and when i tried to book a room before i got out which night i wanted a room they said they werent taking any reservations and before i could ask if that was for tonight only because i wasnt wanting to book a room for tonight i was wanting to book one for tomorrow he hung up on me and when i called back he picked up the phone and hung up on me again. so very rude if you want someone to stay at your hotel show the person some respect dont get rude dont get and attitude when the person doesnt get one with you and definately dont sit there and hang up on them i definateky will not be staying here and i will tell everyone i know not to stay...
