When i book a hotel in an area we have never stayed, I’m always nervous upon arrival. When we arrived we noticed i knocked it out of the park. The outside is nice, the area downtown was perfect and right beside the restaurant that was the reason for our trip, Top Of The Marq restaurant. The area down town very clean. With in walking distance to boutique shops and other restaurants. We walked a lot around down town and felt very safe. All the locals we encountered were very friendly. Walking inside the hotel its nice. Checking in was easy, the lady was very friendly. I had reserved a king suite and since we was an early arrival the lady described the king suites and gave us pick of a room. I’ve never had that happen and that just set the tone for how friendly this hotel was going to be. All the staff we encountered was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our room was very nice, clean and relaxing. My wife and I always get a suite if available. The only thing that was wrong with our room was the toilet bolts were loose that go in floor. Probably no one has mentioned that to the front desk and i will when we check out. It did not bother us and me being a property owner of 30 properties am use to seeing this happen and i tightened the bolts up best i could by hand. We don’t let little things both us. The area over the coffee, microwave, frig area doesn’t have a light and is a little dark to navigate those appliances. But again little things don’t bother our relaxation. We ate breakfast twice in the breakfast bar area and again the staff is very friendly and the food good. We didn’t receive room service for some reason but i just stopped by the front desk and picked up more coffee which was no big deal and they were very happily to accommodate. We would stay in this hotel again if...
Read moreFront desk male receptionist is going around telling innocent patrons, minding their own business and staying here for business - that he has cancer. The clerk who wears a cap, then seemingly uses this as leverage for social engineering purposes, as he tries to audit why you're at the hotel, apparently feels you must meet his personal stamp of approval prerequisites, in order to stay a night at the Cape Girardeau Courtyard by Marriott LOL. He seems to think he is in charge of Marriot as his behavior has seemingly gone unchecked and undisciplined. This man asked so many personal questions and I am very upset that he followed people out to the smoke area, just to interrogate their personal life! Just because people are staying at a hotel and you're jealous of their situation, doesn't mean that you can harass and acost them or even give any input or unsolicited feedback whatsoever. Additionally, the front clerk does not man the desk like he's supposed to do as he is too busy smoking cigarettes and wondering why people are enjoying their lives, because he isn't. He follows you around to inquire what brought you to the area and is relentless with resentful pointed questions, to the point where it becomes a personal encroachment on the person he is harassing. I will be filming him next time he approaches me or others I bring here and will also forward the video to management/corporate and the...
Read moreThis hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The staff at the front desk were very helpful considering the circumstances of COVID-19 procedures.
First I spoke to Jaime on the telephone and asked her information about payment, early check in, and available services. My boyfriend called and booked the hotel for me.
Once I arrived to Cape Jaime immediately remembered me by my name and our phone conversation. She also informed me that my boyfriend came to the hotel, paid for it, checked in, and grabbed a key. Amazing service!
Shift change happened when I was headed out for a walk and I met Jacob that just started his shift. When I got back to the hotel I asked about what complimentary food they had available and what restaurants were still open for carry out or delivery. Jacob suggested so of his favorite local spots that were just down the street. He also offered me a variety of free teas and granola bars.
I couldn't sleep well due to my own issues; so I called the front desk late at night to ask for a late check out. Sandy answered, and not only gave me a late check out, but offered me a hot beverage to help me go to sleep.
Need I say more? The staff was incredible and I know a lot of people were laid off due to Coronvirus and lacking business. The Marriott management made a smart decision by keeping these three wonderful staff...
