I had been searching for a place that wasn't overpriced and would provide a decent nights sleep for my partner, 2 service dogs and myself. I found Travelers Inn through Kayak and saw decent reviews and wanted to give it a try.
When contacting the office for a reservation, I spoke with Amanda who was very helpful and personable especially compared to the other hotels I had contacted in the area. We booked our reservation and were good to go.
Upon arrival, the woman who checked us in was dealing with an issue with some other guests. It took a few minutes before I checked in which wasn't too big of a deal, it gave us time to stretch our legs after a long drive. While working with the other guests, she directs attention to me and said if you don't have a reservation I can't help you. I assured her I had a reservation and without acknowledgement she continued with the other guests. After a few more minutes, she asked the other guests if she could assist me real quick to get checked in. They were fine with it and she proceeded to check me in. The biggest piece that stood out to me during check in was her saying "if your dogs bark, you have to leave." From here forward, this put a bad taste in my mouth regarding her customer service and additionally not feeling very welcome especially after Amanda who booked our reservation was helpful with arranging our initial reservation.
As for the room, they are in need of updating, the TV was fuzzy on every channel, and the AC had a difficult time cooling down the room.
Upon check out, we asked to extend an extra half hour as we were at the Caverns longer than expected. The woman who answered at the hotel was courteous and helpful. I was thankful for this thus bumping my rating to a 3 instead of a 2.
I would say while the price was decent, I probably wouldn't stay here again. Mainly because of the interaction at check in and some of the elements in the...
Read moreThis place has bed bugs. I actually caught one I had crawling on me at night and left it on a paper by the tv for them to see. After searching I found several more in the corner of the mattress in the crevices of the stitching. I told the front desk and asked for a refund for my night and was told the manager would contact me within the next few hours. I ended up having to call them about the situation and was told they couldn’t find any bed bugs and what I had left just looked like a bed bug but was something else. They said they would not refund me my money but they would give me a discount on my room. I got in to my hotel room after midnight and checked out by 3:30 am. Zero sleep and a horrible experience and I received nothing but doubt and bad attitudes. I will never return to this establishment and I will tell anyone and everyone I know...
Read moreI'm staying here as we speak and I'm not really sure what's up with all the negative reviews about customer service. I arrived after hiking all day and was EXHAUSTED I had booked through Expedia and somehow my dates were booked wrong. The lady at the front desk was incredibly sweet and switched everything for me and made sure to get me a room even with the mistake. Expedia was actually the ones who were awful and no help but the actual hotel employees solved all my worries and never made me feel unwelcome. As for the room, I thought they were really clean and comfy. The breakfast had lots of choices. The only thing that sucked was the water pressure but I'd...
