This place is a complete and utter joke. I checked in Aug 2022. I was paying on time weekly with no issues. I ended up having open heart surgery 11/15/2022. My husband was unable to work due to having to take care of me as I could not be left alone. We got behind on paying bc of this. We offered a payment plan to the hotel. They denied it. It wasn't going to be a lot at first but we wanted to pay and continue our stay. We were pretty happy. They kicked us out 12/9/2022. I had just had open heart surgery and was unable to lift anything over 10lbs and could not drive. We had to rent a uhaul van to get our stuff out including a power recliner I could not help lift. This was ridiculous. My husband got it done. The Assistant Manager Leslie washed my king size comforter for me in the hotels washer and dryer to save me a trip to the laundromat after surgery. A lot of good that did. I asked her not to use bleach and she did and it was absolutely ruined. It smelled so bad with bleach I asked my husband to get rid of it. I am highly sensitive to bleach. She asked me not to tell anyone she washed it so I didn't bc she could get into trouble. At this point, who cares. She did not offer to replace it and it was ruined. No longer made and I am out $200 and a comforter. I would like to know what kind of hotel kicks out a guest after they had open heart surgery. UNPROFESSIONAL!!! NO compassion either. I am disgusted. The reservation was in my husbands name. So I made a reservation at the Pittsburgh Airport Extended Stay. I checked in 12/9/2022 and the manager Robert was nice and accommodating. I paid for the week in advance over $500.00. My husband unloaded all of our stuff. It was a lot. Plus me and a cat. I put all the food and my insulin that I take as I am dependent on it in the fridge. The fridge did not feel cold, so I set it to the coldest setting. We went to bed exhausted as I am still in the recovery phase from surgery. The next am, we get up, I grab a drink and it is worst than room temperature. Everything was warm. Including the insulin. We tell the manager and he says, I will have the fridge swapped out. Okay great.Well 20 mins later he knocks on the door with another young lady (Tonya, super sweet girl) and says we have a problem. You gotta go. Bc my husband left Carnegie with a pretty substantial balance, we were being kicked out yet again. This reservation was in my name so I was frustrated. What does his balance have to do with me? He gave us an hour and a half to leave. We had to rent another uhaul van to get our stuff out. I am not cleared by my surgical team to drive at this point and I had to drive our car bc we needed the van and my car to get everything out. Seems a bit unfair to do to a heart patient. And it was cold out. My husband managed to get it all packed and out of the room to the manager Roberts liking and on time. Jerk. My husband advised him of the insulin issue to which he responded call Corporate. My husband also advised him that we had a package coming from Macys and he said he would accept it and call me when it arrived. Lies, he rejected the package and it was returned to Macy's and I had to await a refund. I called corporate 12/12/2022 and was advised the district manager would be calling me as well as the insurance company to get me reimbursed for the insulin. I called every few days and was given the same response they would call. It's been over a month. I finally was told over a week ago that since my husband had a balance at Carnegie that they would not be replacing my insulin. One reservation on one name has ZERO to do with another reservation under my name or my insulin. So, now tomorrow I will be contacting an attorney to help me file a lawsuit against this god awful hotel chain. Do yourself a favor and spend more money to stay at a nicer more professional place. Absolutely disgusted with how this was all handled. Especially my insulin that is LIFE SUSTAINING medication. Sam and Jackie truly amazing. The rest, LOL. Not even close. Let's kick out a...
Read moreIf I could rate this a -100 I would. This place was filthy disgusting. The first room I got, there were stink bugs that were crawling in through the window cracks even though the windows were shut. I went down to the front desk and the worker told me to "kill it with lemon juice". I told her that was not my job and the room should have been looked at beforehand. She then told me not to smoosh the bugs and to catch it and flush it. I then reiterated that wasn't my job. I asked for a different room and she told me they were fully booked and couldn't give me a different room. I then asked for a full refund and was told she's just a "regular employee" and couldn't refund me until the manager comes in the next morning. She suggested me to "tough it out for the night" until then. I went back to the room and there were more stink bugs now. I went and talked to her again and asked for her to call the manager. She called and walked to the back room so I wouldn't hear her. And somehow, even though she told me they were fully booked, a room opened up. She took me to that new room and it was FILTHY. There were food crumbs on the kitchen floor. There was an old hairbrush on the TV stand with blonde hair all over the table and brush. There was what looked like an open chocolate candy bar on the ground right by the night stand. The window was broken and could not fully shut. Therefore I had to stuff it with toilet paper so more bugs wouldn't come in. The shelves were broken off the wall too.
I went back to the lobby the next morning for a refund and was told the manager "had an emergency" so she left only the custodian to be at the front desk. I asked what time the manager would be back and the custodian said she didn't know but she recommended me to stay until 11 AM for checkout time and see if the manager would be back. I told her to call me when the manager returns so I can come check out and get a refund. She didn't. When I came back down at 10:55 AM the manager was already there but they failed to notify me. The manager said they'd come and clean my room but at that point I was so disgusted, disappointed, and done. I wanted out. They still made me pay for the night even though I had such a horrible experience and did NOT want to stay.
Do NOT book here. You think you're getting it for a deal but the headache, filthiness, and service is awful. I overheard the manager talking to an employee about a front door that was broken and falling off it's hinges too, such a safety hazard.
I was still charged $341.99 for this terrible experience and it was for only ONE NIGHT. They would not refund me for my entire stay even though I asked to be refunded right when I checked in and saw the condition of the rooms. The only reason I stayed was because the worker forced me to because she "wasn't allowed to issue a refund without her manager". Ridiculous. $341.99 for bugs, garbage, pungent smells, broken shelves, crumbs on floors, and open candy bars on ground from...
Read moreWe booked the room months in advance, received a confirmation email and they took my payment. We get there after driving all the way from Ohio to be told "we have your name in here but we don't have a room for you. it's a busy weekend cuz you know the games this weekend" i said yeah that's why I booked months ahead. Thankfully these guys behind us booked 3 rooms and only needed 2 so we did get a room. We get up to the room. The room was filthy definitely not cleaned from previous guests. I go downstairs and tell them the room is filthy they tell me "welp...they didn't get to it" i was staying pretty calm and I let them know we were heading downtown for a few hours when we get back our room needs to be cleaned. I left notes on all our luggage, food and drinks for them to please not touch. I even told them at the desk don't touch our stuff just clean the room please. We go out to dinner and get a call about an hour later they inform me they moved our stuff and gave our room away to someone else. They left our food and drinks in the old room and just had our luggage behind the front desk. We left dinner and went straight back to the hotel, walk in i see all our stuff but not food n drinks. They eventually used my old key to the original room to go get our food n drinks. I asked why my stuff was touched when I literally had notes everywhere stating not to touch anything. We get keys to a new room...walk in this room was also filthy. At this point I was like we should get the beds cuz it's filthy, my bed had hair all over it....not just regular hair they were pubes....I go down to the front desk told the lady she said "hm all I can do is get you clean sheets, once you change the sheets bring the dirty ones back downstairs to save her a trip"...still remaining calm I told her I will leave the bedding outside my door along with the previous rooms garbage they left us.... I told her I needed to speak with someone, she told me to come down at 7 am to speak with Emily. I was down there at 7 then got told Emily wouldn't be there til 9 so to wait for her. We were going to the steelers game so I told the lady I will speak with Emily the following morning. Was told she would be in at 9. I went down at 9....was told Emily is late will be in at 10. We were planning on going back home around 8 so we waited making our travel time later all so Emily could get there late to not even have the decency to talk face to face. She hid behind the wall saying she was going to refund me. I called the hotel this morning (Tuesday) and was told Emily was off but I told the lady I have yet to be refunded and it's very ridiculous after all we went through. I will be calling Emily tomorrow morning and this better be resolved. I wouldn't every stay there again....there's no excuse to be that shitty of an organization. Zero hospitality, terrible cleaning service (if they have any at all). Highly disappointed. Also there was plastic bag placed over the...
