Order a burrito, change your life.
I was so excited when I heard about this location opening. I placed an order online, and picked it up in person. The food was made very quickly! While I didn't eat inside, I was entranced with how warm and welcoming the restaurant felt. It smelled delicious.
I ordered 3 sides, a whole chicken, a chicken burrito, and salchipapas. The total only came to 50$. I don't know about you, but whenever I order food... it's normally way higher than that - and the serving sizes are enough for you to have leftovers.
The sides I got were the mashed potatoes, the Peruvian fried rice, and the fries. The fries were decent, nothing to boast about... but the other two sides? My lord. The fried rice is absolutely delicious, and the mashed potatoes sent my neurons back to when I was 5 eating grandma's mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.
The whole rotisserie chicken is good. If you like rotisserie chicken, you'll love this. If you like chicken in general, you'll like this. The seasoning and flavor isn't strong, but its present. The sauces really bring the chicken home - I like the green one. The white sauce doesn't do much for me.
My dad ate the salchipapas - he just said "yeah, it's good." A man of few words.
But the burrito... This chicken burrito was deceiving. It's the thing I ate last. Everything else up until this point was good, a solid 7/10. I looked at the burrito, not ready for it to be everything I'd hoped and dreamed. I took a bite WITHOUT the green sauce at first. Fireworks. It's so f* tasty!? Y'all, I put that green sauce on it and the lord himself visited me briefly. I do not care what you order. But if you're ordering at all, get a burrito. I got chicken but I'm sure the steak and veggie ones are just as divine.
This business better thrive because my heart won't be able to handle it closing. So happy to have this as a local addition in my...

Having never tried Peruvian food, I was intrigued to try something new. We went for lunch, and they were busy but we still got a table right away. The restaurant is sizable with lots of seating and a bar. The kitchen is open in the back of the space and immediately draws you in with delicious smells.
We started with the beef empanadas, and a new dish I had never heard of; Papa a la huancaĂna, that means âHuancayo-style potatoâ, is 3 pieces of boiled and chilled potato, with a cheesy mild sauce called huancaĂna on it. Imagine the best potato salad youâve ever had and this is better. This is worth a try for sure!
We decided to go all out and got their family meal deal #1 with 4 large sides and a whole rotisserie chicken for $29 (as of 6/4/25). There was so much food!! The table comes stocked with three sauces, one jalapeño, a medium yellow sauce and a seasoned mayonnaise. I think Iâm always going to need to be served a bottle of this Mayo for the rest of my life. It went well on everything! Their jalapeño sauce was really great, too! The chicken was really well seasoned and flavorful through and through. Juicy and well cooked, this chicken almost fell off the bone, but was easy to eat with silverware or your hands.
We also tried the Peruvian rice, plantains, corn & French fries as our sides. Matt always has to get fries! The servings were extremely generous, and were all complemented by the sauces. The mayo and the corn were so good!
The service here was so good as well. The girl that took care of us was nice, and helped me pronounce names of things, made suggestions from the menu and her favorites.
We ended lunch with the tres leches cake. This was a winner. Not too sweet, not too drowned in the milk poured over the top. The perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
Now, off to have a...
Read moreIf you're craving Peruvian rotisserie chicken, El Pollon in Carnegie is the place to be! The menu offers everything from their signature chicken to subs, burgers, and classic Peruvian dishes. The restaurant is impressively clean, and the food is absolutely delicious. To start, I had a pineapple Jarritos soda, a refreshing Mexican soda with bold, fruity flavors. For an appetizer, I went all in with The Big Papi Salchipapa Bowlâa mound of crispy fries topped with cheese, chopped hot dogs, chicken, chorizo, and steak, all drizzled with their signature yellow and white sauces. Wow, what a combo! For the main meal, I couldnât pass up the Family Meal, because how can you go to a Peruvian rotisserie chicken spot and not get the chicken? The aroma alone hits you as soon as you walk in! The meal included a whole rotisserie chicken with four sides. I chose cilantro rice, corn, red potatoes, and an onion-tomato saladâeach side was fresh and flavorful. I also tried the Chicken Burrito, packed with fried rice, black beans, onions, signature white sauce, and their juicy rotisserie chicken. On top of that, I had the Chicken & Cheese Sub, made with grilled white onions, rotisserie chicken, provolone cheese, and their signature white sauce, served with fries. One of the highlights here is the trio of signature sauces they provide in bottles with your meal: White Sauce â A creamy mayo-based sauce. Yellow Sauce â A medium-spiced yellow sauce. Green Sauce â A spicy jalapeño-based sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the sauces took everything to the next level. Highly recommend checking this place out! El Pollon truly delivers the taste...
