The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of a grocery store in Carnegie.
Rahma Grocery, located at 409 E. Main St., was ordered to close after an inspection on Jan. 2.
According to an inspection report, officials found six violations, including two that are considered as high risk of causing foodborne illness.
The high-risk violations are for cleaning and sanitation, and pest management. The inspection report states the store’s meat saw was visibly soiled with multiple different types of meat, including raw fish and raw beef. It also notes an active German roach infestation, with “too many to count” dead roaches found throughout the building and roach activity seen in the ceilings and walls.
